I just wanted to play around with names that sound like Emily (but would work as a sib-set with Emily).
So far...

Are you mostly looking for 3 syllable names ending in y/ie? So quite matchy in sound?

I like Emily because it’s simple, elegant and timeless. So you want something which also ticks those boxes.

daisypond · 15/04/2018 16:50

You maybe need to narrow it down a bit. Do you like Emily because it's got three syllables, begins in a vowel, ends in an "ee" sound, was around a bit in the Victorian age?

@daisypond that is sort of what I'm trying to do.
I think I like girls names ending in a vowel sound. I prefer 3 syllables, but like some with fewer/more. I like pretty names that also have a bit of spunk (which I think is why these rules apply - vowel =pretty, longer=spikier).

I don't really think Emily is timeless (nor any name). It has spanned 2 generations now, but was unpopular before that. One of my current favourites is more faddy though, but that does give me reservations. I'm really not sure!
