Still early days but would you say these names are nice?
Darcy James

Clementine Blossom

I love Darcey. I imagine a little girl full of fun and always laughing. I also love James FOR A BOY. It's a good strong masculine classic nAme. However it's awful for a girl.
I don't like Clementine but quite like Clemency If I could get past the meaning.
I also like Blossom but it's too much of a mouthful with Clementine.

LoveInTokyo · 13/04/2018 18:36

James for a girl? It’s a no from me.

PinkCalluna · 13/04/2018 18:40

Clementine is a very marmite name and Blossom doesn’t give her much of an alternative is she wanted something a bit more straightforward.

If James is your maiden name or it is a family name that’s fine.

If you just want to call your DD a boy’s name then Darcy is probably enough and I’d again go for something rather more classic as an alternative.

pineapplefritter · 13/04/2018 18:43

Sorry Darcy James is our boy name.

LoveInTokyo · 13/04/2018 18:44

Oh. Then Darcy for a boy is also a no from me I’m afraid.

I like Clementine for a girl though.

babycakes1010 · 13/04/2018 18:45

Love the name darcy but would spell it darcie for a girl

TroubledLichen · 13/04/2018 18:49

Sorry OP but everyone is going to think girl with Darcy (especially with Darcy Bussell). I’ve certainly never heard of a male one, except Mr Darcy but then it’s a surname... James is lovely though.

Clementine for a girl is fab, it was on my list for DD but I think it might be too much of a mouthful with Blossom as a middle name. Up to you though since middle names are so rarely used don’t let that stop you if you love it.

daisypond · 13/04/2018 18:56

Darcy/Darcey is nowadays regarded as a girl's name, I agree. I don't like it for a girl either, but definitely not for a boy. James is nice. I like Clementine and Clemency as well for a girl. I'm not keen on Blossom, but it's a middle name, so that's fine as well.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/04/2018 19:20

Clementine Darcey and James Daniel.

chezmk1988 · 13/04/2018 19:20

I like Darcy James for a boy but not a girl. Don't like your other name choice either sorry

chezmk1988 · 13/04/2018 19:21

Sorry just read your messages. Darcy James is lovely for a boy

MadMaryBoddington · 13/04/2018 19:22

Clementine Blossom is too twee.

I wouldn’t choose Darcy for a boy.

n0ne · 13/04/2018 19:23

Really dislike Darcy and James. Blossom is fine but not paired with Clementine, which is the best of the options.

n0ne · 13/04/2018 19:24

Sorry should have RTFT. James is fine for a boy, but Darcy isn't.

Glumglowworm · 13/04/2018 19:41

Darcie/Darcy/Darcey are all in the top 100 girls names, so I wouldn’t use it for a boy

James is lovely though

Clementine Blossom is rather twee for my taste

ChocolateCrunch · 13/04/2018 21:05

The only Darcies/Darceys I know are girls. James is lovely and classic.
Love Clementine, but not Blossom, sorry.

RedDwarves · 13/04/2018 22:00

I don't like Darcy, because it reminds me of Mr. Darcy in Bridget Jones who was an utter twat. James is fantastic.

Not a huge fan of Clementine, but agree that Blossom really tips it over the edge. It just sounds like the name of a character. Clementine with a much more solid/traditional middle name would be much better.

Sophronia · 14/04/2018 00:18

I know a 2 year old male Darcy

LoveInTokyo · 14/04/2018 09:20

Poor kid. What did he do to deserve that?

buttercup54321 · 15/04/2018 21:14

Daniel James
Darren James
Darrion James
Darryl James
Arthur James
Harvey James
Harley James

Raines100 · 15/04/2018 21:22

There was a male D'Arcey on Grand Designs once. I hoped for his sake it was an in-joke.

PasstheStarmix · 15/04/2018 21:24

Cleo?

RavenWings · 15/04/2018 21:34

Wouldn't use Darcy for a boy, but I like it for a girl.
Clementine Blossom is awful.

PasstheStarmix · 15/04/2018 21:35

Isn’t Jamie Oliver’s daughter called Clementine?

user1471552178 · 15/04/2018 21:58

The title of your thread/post is...‘for a girl’ so that’s why everyone is assuming that both names you’ve put are for a girl.

If they are for a girl then would defiantly use Darcey, but not James for a middle name. They are sooo many beautiful girl names you could choose instead, you could mix it with the other names you like.

@Awwlookatmybabyspider....love your description of Darcey....that is exactly how lovely littles Darcey’s are and obviously the glamorous Darcey Bussell! Smile
