Can I get your opinion on my shortlists. Baby is due any day and will be a sibling to Lucy. Surname starts with W. We have really struggled with names this time around so any suggestions for boys is welcome. I like traditional but want to stay away from anything common.

Girl:
Lara (is this too much with Lucy)
April
Caitlin

Boy:
Gregory
Cameron

Lara is the best but yes a bit much with Lucy. Cora or Cara?

Boys: Felix, Jonathan, Rory, Gabriel, Joseph, Christopher nn Kit, Malcolm

BlueChampagne · 13/04/2018 11:38

Lovely names, but agree the Lara and Lucy might be a bit too much! In case you want a few more to think about to distract you while you wait, how about:

Girl: Fiona or Francesca
Boy: Anthony or Conrad

HappyLollipop · 13/04/2018 11:41

I like Lara best off your list and think Lucy and Lara are absolutely fine as a sibset.

Soph88 · 13/04/2018 11:45

I did think maybe Clara instead of Lara to get away from the L?

I like Conrad. We did consider Corbin but I was a bit worried everyone would think we had name him after Jeremy Corbyn?

OP posts:
greatbiggiraffe · 13/04/2018 11:47

Clara is beautiful

Aprilmightbemynewname · 13/04/2018 11:47

April obviously!! Grin

Winterfield · 13/04/2018 12:14

How about Corin instead of Corbin?

stellinaa · 13/04/2018 12:16

Love the name Corbin, and Cory is such a cute nn. Also think the names Ezra, Nicholas, Jonah, Elias, Alexander, George and Oscar would pair well!
Girls name suggestions would be:
Mara
Saskia
Emmeline
Dawn
Annie
Serena

Hersetta427 · 13/04/2018 12:22

I like Gregory (this was my choice for DS but was vetoed by DH. I think Alex goes very well with Lucy.

mintich · 13/04/2018 12:37

I also have Lara and Cameron on my list! Also have Gregor rather than Gregory but we have similar taste I think!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/04/2018 13:29

Lucy and April sound lovely together.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/04/2018 13:30

Gregor
Callum
Caleb

ChocolateCrunch · 13/04/2018 13:42

daisypond · 13/04/2018 16:56

I don't think any of your girls' names are particularly traditional, not in the way that Lucy is. Lara just doesn't fit at all. It's a diminutive for the Russian Larissa, I think. Is that any good? I like April, but I don't think it fits. Caitlin is nice enough, but it's just not the same style of name as Lucy, if that bothers you. Catherine? Clara is nice and goes much better with Lucy.

dancingunicorns123 · 14/04/2018 09:22

I love Gregory

PinkAvocado · 14/04/2018 09:25

Love Clara!

Cameron and Corbin are a bit political sounding... how about Cobyn?

bridgetreilly · 14/04/2018 13:13

Caitlin and Gregory would be my picks. Great choices. Good luck!

17caterpillars1mouse · 14/04/2018 16:23

Lara (is this too much with Lucy) - I really love Lara. I always think it sounds like a classy name and that a Lara would be quite fiesty (in a good way). I don't think Lucy and Lara are too similar

April - I like April

Caitlin - also like Caitlin as long as it I this spelling. I know 2 young Caitlin's (though one is Katelyn)

Boy:
Gregory - love it. So underused but lovely and well known. I like both Greg and Rory as nicknames but also really like Gregory on its own

Cameron - not a fan at all sorry. I think it's often classed as a naughty boy name. It personally makes me think of David Cameron though

A few suggestions of underused but we'll known names:
Patrick
Alistair
Dominic
Francis

chezmk1988 · 14/04/2018 18:40

I like all your girls names but would probably pick April.

I don't like Cameron but I like Gregory. It's very underused now and a little Greg is gorgeous.

GrumpySausage · 14/04/2018 18:49

I like Cameron from your boys list. But then I'm biased Wink Can be shortened to Cam too which is a nice nn

Also a fan of Caitlin but I prefer the Catelynn spelling. Lucy is lovely too.
