Jacob- nice but very popular in recent years.

Lennon- I just think Gallagher child. And presumably you are not a rock star.

Torin- ???

ChiragGoopta · 12/04/2018 20:02

Any suggestions welcome! Also like Zack and Theo.

Torin makes me think of Turin/Torino, Japanese Tori gates, and the German word for gate is also Tor. I am clearly over-thinking this!

Jacob is always a wonderful, noble name.
Lennon is actually really nice, but it really doesn't work unless you are a proper fan of John Lennon/Beatles. And yes, there is the Lennon Gallagher connection, but that doesn't have to put you off. But if you're not totally musical and not into John Lennon, I wouldn't. It is very particular, in this way.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/04/2018 20:04

Lennon. Although I think most people would assume you were a Beatles fan

EmmaC78 · 12/04/2018 20:05

Jacob or Theo are both lovely.

catchingzzzeds · 12/04/2018 20:05

I have a Jacob, we're in the south east and we don't know any others.
My eldest is Zack Smile

Jasper was the name of first cat so I can’t give an opinion on it for a child. I just see a lovely ginger furry creature.

ChiragGoopta · 12/04/2018 20:12

Yes, Jaaper does make me think of the dog in 'Rebecca'...!

I'm so sorry. I didn't realise Torin was a Scottish name! I am not from the UK originally, is my bad excuse. I am aware of the typical ones like Douglas, Andrew, Euan, Alec. So Torin is actually lovely, especially since it is native to these shores (it's me who is the narrow-minded one here). Apologies.

ChiragGoopta · 12/04/2018 20:15

Ha, no worries, it's really quite unusual!

RemoteControlledChaos · 12/04/2018 20:27

Love Torin!

florascotia2 · 12/04/2018 21:06

Torin is not traditionally Scottish.

It's a modern name, possibly based on the much older Irish Gaelic word for 'chief'. So it's a title, a bit like calling a baby 'prince'.

LoveInTokyo · 12/04/2018 21:07

Jacob Smile

BabyGardiner · 12/04/2018 21:09

Can't go wrong with Theo. Gorgeous name!

Definitely Torin. Prefer Zachary to Zach.

Beeziekn33ze · 12/04/2018 23:01

Jacob, Torin, Theo

Waterlemon · 12/04/2018 23:03

I like Torin a lot.

I’ve never heard it before either - I thought it sounded Scandinavian rather than Scottish!
