What do you think of the name Scarlett?

Not worried about shortening it (prefer names that don't shorten)

Is it too 'naughty' or 'tarty' or 'stripper-esque'. I really don't mean to offend anyone. I personally love the name but someone said it was a bit of a Stripper name...?

To me it is a stripper name, sorry!! I think Scarlett Lady AKA prostitute.

Be aware that scarlet means mortified/ embarrassed in Dublin/ maybe the rest of Ireland (not sure.) Scarlet for your face/ Scarlet for your Ma for having you and so on. If you have any connections with Ireland I wouldn't.

I love it! I know one (an adult) and she is lovely. It makes me think of Scarlett O'Hara - strong independent woman.

My little sister is called Scarlett and she is one of the loveliest kindest people I know. Everyone who knows your little girl will think of her when they hear the name Scarlett, if you like it I say go for it! 😊

I don't like the scar part, it sounds like a little scar, a scar-lett. It doesn't sound feminine either imo.

Hadn't ever thought of it as a stripper name?! I don't even 'get' the whole stripper thing anyway - I once was told Lauren is a stripper name???! Maybe it depends on who you ask and what strippers they've seen?????!!!! Hmm

I love it, I think it's beautiful. It's quite popular so I don't think you need to worry too much about any connotations

I wanted to name our little one Scarlett but my husband wouldn't hear of it. I love the name.
I nannied for 20 years- and didn't meet a Scarlett without a strong personality- so you have been warned! Grin

We wanted this for dd2 but reacted to older family neg reactions and had it as a middle name.
Always regretted it. She is a Scarlett
Long dark hair, creamy complexion, the works!

My friend has a lovely little girl called Scarlett.
