Other than Louise / Louisa. Lou or Lu, only names i can think of are Tallulah, and Lula, any more possible names that could achieve this shortening? Think it's a bit short on it's own. Thanks

People who think about the Loo connection are not going to tell you. That's what these forums are for.

Lou = Loo is ridiculous! Talk about manufacturing problems. My Auntie Lou would sort you right out! 😂

You obviously haven't met my family... they were happy enough to tell me that she has dogs name so I can't see them holding back on loo although for some reason looseat has just popped into my head

pipilangstrumpf · 07/04/2018 13:40

Well I would never tell the Lou (Louise) I know that her name sounds like loo!

TammyWhyNot · 07/04/2018 13:48

“I never would have made a loo connection”

MN shows you many things about the people we consider grown ups in our society.

So many perfectly common names bring out “ooh, they’ll get bullied “ due to some convoluted pathetic connection someone has drummed up in their head.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 07/04/2018 13:49

Have you all only just noticed lou sounds like loo? Sorry i really don't understand fuss and negativty.

Lou has been the common shorting for louise/louisa for years, its a normal name. I have an aunty lou never once thought her name was funny and she has 6 nephews and 3 nieces all of us are well and truley through the stage when tpilet things were hilarious as either a toddler or a teenager, and weve never ever made the connection. I find it weird that you would, especially the asronishment that seens to being expressed.

Any way Op,

Lucille
Lucy

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/04/2018 16:03

Lourdes.

Marcipex · 07/04/2018 16:11

MikeUniformMike Of course , I've a school story about a girl called Lav short for Lavinia. Her friends nick name her Vinnie instead.

MikeUniformMike · 08/04/2018 19:54

I know a Lavinia.

pipilangstrumpf · 10/04/2018 13:54

I think Lav is better than Loo! But neither are great sounding nicknames.

LoveInTokyo · 10/04/2018 14:20

Lou = Louise, Louisa, Louella (I like Louisa the best)

Lu = Lucy, Lucia, Lucille, Lucinda, Lucasta

CastielIsMyAngel · 10/04/2018 14:25

Luanne (if you watch Real Housewives)

As an aside, years ago (in the 80s) my cousin had a friend called Louise and her nickname was Boggy
