Thinking Frederick Arthur for a boy.
Nickname Freddie or Fred.

Thoughts?

Like it!

RestingButchFace · 06/04/2018 00:02

I love it. Both great names.

BringBiscuits · 06/04/2018 00:04

Love it. My 3yo nephew is called Freddy and he’s a delight!

CathyandHeathcliff · 06/04/2018 05:20

Thanks, the other ones are Frederick William or Frederick Oscar but my DP likes Frederick Arthur best.

I have a Freddie (DS1) but he's Alfred. Word of warning, he's a Freddie Initial because of its popularity!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/04/2018 06:53

I really like Frederick Oscar, not heard that combo before, but do like them all.

Madmarchpear · 06/04/2018 06:59

I quite like it but I would be put off by the popularity. 3 of the 10 boys at dad's nursery are called Freddie. I prefer Arthur Frederick.

Love!

chezmk1988 · 06/04/2018 09:06

Love Frederick Arthur

CathyandHeathcliff · 06/04/2018 09:27

I don't hear it that often, I would use the full name Frederick but maybe shorten it to Fred instead of Freddie, I'm not too worried about it being popular but consequently, I don't hear Fred much.

I know two baby Fredericks (Fred and Freddie) and one Freddie with no longer name. One is just over a year old, the other two are young babies. So I think it is becoming quite well used where I live, (near London).

I do think it’s a lovely name though and not all Freddies will be Frederick on the bc. Could be Alfred as above or Wilfred or just Fred / Freddie. So they all have the option to have different names if there are heaps per class or whatever.

beyondthesky · 06/04/2018 11:07

I also love it. Lovely name for a little boy and will grow with him.

bridgetreilly · 06/04/2018 12:11

I think it's great. Just check the initials with your surname. FAB would be fine. FAT would be less good. FAR or FAN or FAE or FAD or FAX?

CathyandHeathcliff · 06/04/2018 12:13

Our initials would make him FAB

It’s an amazing name, ds1 is called Frederick Charles, as a baby he was Freddie now his friends call him Fred or Frederick or Freddie. The name really suits him!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 06/04/2018 17:50

DS1 is Frederick Thomas. He's either Fred or Freddie as a nick name. I love it.

bridgetreilly · 07/04/2018 19:14

FAB! Definitely go for it then.
