Pregnant with dc#4

Our surname is short/2 syllables, and although I wouldn’t class it as that popular, it seems that many celebrities have this surname.

The name I like for a girl is also the name of an actress who was quite famous in the late 80’s/early 90’s and whilst I doubt that any of her friends would have heard of this actress, a lot of older generation would.

Would you still use it?

For clarity it’s more along the lines of Jennifer Garner than Demi Moore.

I think it depends on how famous the person is/was. For example I wouldn’t use Tom Jones even though they are both quite common names but I may be more likely to use a name like Benjamin McKenzie (for any O.C. fans out there😂 )

I think it will be fine if your hearts in it, they recently said that 90's names are making a come back.

Ginger1982 · 26/03/2018 10:28

I always fancied Lily for a girl but my surname would make everyone think of a certain singer...🙄

HeartySoup · 26/03/2018 11:37

No, I wouldn’t do it. You want your child to be their own person, you don’t want people to associate them with an 80s singer all the time.

HeartySoup · 26/03/2018 11:37

Or 80s actress!

strawberrypenguin · 26/03/2018 11:48

I think it depends who it is tbh

FannyHertz · 26/03/2018 12:03

She wouldn’t be named after the actress, it’s just a coincidence that the name is the same.

The name is Juliet but the actress spells it Juliette.

I think that's long enough ago that you'd be fine to use the name now (unless there are unpleasant associations with the celebrity).

FannyHertz · 26/03/2018 14:51

I don’t think there’s any bad associations with the name other than the usual 😂

It will be fine.😄

Wishfulmakeupping · 26/03/2018 15:25

If it’s the different spelling it will be absolutely fine I love the name Juliet 💕

ChillyNipsAreCold · 28/03/2018 12:19

Juliet Lewis? Nope too close.

linz0308 · 29/03/2018 15:25

I wouldn't use it even though I love the name Juliet.
