Subset, are these too similar?

We have an Ottilie Annabel. If the next one (due in 2 weeks!) Is a girl then we are stuck for a name.
We like Romilly Florence. Are ottilie and romilly too similar for sisters?

P.s we shorten ottilie to ottie (never Tilly). I anticipate romilly would be Ro or Romy (never Milly) so unlikely to end up with both a Tilly and a Milly!!

Does Ottilie have a nickname? And will you give Romily a nickname?
I think if they are going to be called Ottilie and Romilly all the time it might be a bit too similar
Tilly(Ottilie) and Milly (Romilly) I think would also be too similar

DramaAlpaca · 24/03/2018 14:17

They are fine, they are similar in style but not in sound & go very well together.

upsideup · 24/03/2018 14:18

X post, in that case I dont think they are too similar

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/03/2018 14:28

I think they're fine together. However I wouldn't ruin a beautiful name like Romilly with a nn. There are some names I don't think should be shortnend Romilly being one of them. Until late they can decide for themselves, obviously

GreyGauntlet · 24/03/2018 14:56

I love them both but think hey are too similar. I wouldn't personally go for these two together. Sorry!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/03/2018 15:23

What about Florence for a first name?

MikeUniformMike · 24/03/2018 15:26

Romilly makes me think of a war general or something. If you're going for Ro how about Rowena or Rowella. For Romy how about Rosemary?

MadMaryBoddington · 25/03/2018 10:58

I’d get them tangled and end up shouting Rottily and Ommily. Too similar.

WowserBowser · 25/03/2018 10:59

Lovely names

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/03/2018 12:40

Very nice !

HeartySoup · 25/03/2018 12:42

I think they’re too sing-songy together. I’m also not keen on Romilly.

sycamore54321 · 25/03/2018 17:02

Too close for me as well.

I thought Romy was a name in its own right; could you choose it instead?
