Any thoughts on the name Sylvie?

For me it’s indelibly linked to Sylvia Plath.

Love it.

Sylvia is dreadful. Makes me think of Beverley and similar names. A dark-haired Liz McDonald type in a red polyester satin blouse and a fake leather too tight pencil skirt.
I think of Sylvie as French - maybe it is prettier in a French accent. Strangely, I know an Italian lady called Silvia and in her accent, her name is pretty.
Generally, a No from me.

I prefer Sylvia! Beautiful name.

I have a Sylvia, we call her Sylvie interchangeably and sometimes Vee. Love the meaning 'of the forest'. Great nature name with old-lady chic.
