I'm only 16+3 and don't know what we are having yet. I feel like its a girl and DP thinks a boy. I'm happy either way but am having trouble with coming up with boys names.

We have however decided on a girls name. What do you think to...

Iris Mabel?

It's lovely. Iris is one of my fave names and it goes well with Mabel.

MammieBear · 15/03/2018 14:21

Nothing wrong with it at all, good meaning as well.

Any ideas on boys names?

I like very old fashioned names but DP doesn't:

Rupert
Ted
Fraser
Henry
Albert but our dog is called Burt
Forrest
Arthur
Pip
Albus

My DP likes Lithuanian names that i cannot pronounce! (he is from Lithuania)

I love Iris Mabel. Mabel is currently on our (very long) list.

Out of your list I love Rupert - I only know one and he’s lovely. I also like Henry and Arthur from your list.

Seconding Rupert. What about Oscar, Oliver, Rufus, Freddie? Re Lithuanian boy's names, lots of Lithuanian names seem to end in ..us or ..as but have British equivalents, for instance Gabrielus is the Lithuanian form of Gabriel. Any meeting ground in something like that?

onalongsabbatical · 15/03/2018 14:48

Sorry that should have been Gabrielius.

Mantas is lithuanian, how about Lucius it can sound both modern and old it has a rich history of use, you could have Luca as a Nickname? If not how about Alexai, Barthomley...
