We are due in a couple of days and have no name for baby boy number 2! We have a 2 year old Arlo Jude, I love his name but have really struggled to find something I love just as much, we have a short list
Bertie
Ralph
Jasper
Hunter
Sonny (other half not so keen)
Help!!!!!

Last name is Barton

Bertie Barton? I wouldn’t. And if you do, I’d call him Albert or something on the birth certificate to give him options when he’s older.

Ralph and Jasper probably my favourites from your list.

I agree that Bertie Barton is a bit much.

Alexander
George
Leo
Henry
Daniel
William
Felix
Julian

I love Bertie (although I am biased as my Dachshund is called Burt).

Evelynismycatsformerspyname · 15/03/2018 08:51

Bertie Barton sounds like a character from the Beano... Would you really put "Bertie" on a birth certificate?

Call him Albert, nickname Bertie, maybe, but Ralph and Jasper are better.

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/03/2018 08:59

Evan Bertie Barton
Ethan Bertie Barton
Oscar Bertie Barton
Rudi Bertie Barton

I know you wanted middle names for Berie but whilst I am generally quite happy with alliterative names, Bertie Narton does sound very cartoony.

From your options, Jasper and Hunter probably go best.

MammieBear · 15/03/2018 09:28

Albert Barton to give him options when he's older.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/03/2018 09:41

Ralph and Jasper, not Bertie Barton, sounds like a cartoon character.

Kokeshi123 · 15/03/2018 12:27

I know you weren't asking for opinions on the first name but you really really cannot do "Bertie Barton"--it sounds ridiculous.

Sonny is dreadful as either a first name or a middle name.

Jasper, Ralph and Hunter are all fine as either first names or middle names.

Littlemum2be86 · 15/03/2018 14:09

Arlo and Jasper sound good together! I like Bertie but agree it sounds a bit of a tongue twister with Barton

bridgetreilly · 15/03/2018 19:23

Jasper would be a great choice. Jasper Robert maybe?

Lifeaback · 15/03/2018 19:26

Bertie Barton sounds cute but I don't think would flow well when he's an adult. I'm not normally the type to say 'he needs a proper name' but I think Albert would be a better idea, then he has the option to pick albie/Bertie as a NN.

timeistight · 15/03/2018 19:29

Hunter - love it!

SuperBeagle · 15/03/2018 20:14

Bertie Barton really isn't good.

I think Jasper is the nicest.

BikeRunSki · 15/03/2018 20:19

Albert, Gilbert, Robert - all perfectly good and sensible names which abbreviate to Bertie.

Gilbert George Barton

nooka · 15/03/2018 20:30

I agree that Jasper feels like a good fit with Arlo. Jasper George perhaps. I'm afraid I think Bertie even as a diminutive is not good at all. Very cutsie and OK for a tiny baby only. Robert is great though, probably quite uncommon and works well with Arlo. I don't like Gilbert as much but again it would work well with Arlo. Robert / Gibert James perhaps.

Bertie Bassett Barton

dustarr73 · 15/03/2018 21:37
