Names like Frankie?

Hi

We had decided on the name Francesca (to be known as Frankie) for our dd, but I'm now not so sure that it feels right - dh is still very keen on it.

Any suggestions on other names similar that dh may still like? We can't have any names starting with L.

I love Francesca but hate Frankie with a passion. I'd shorten to Cheska/Chessie.

The only Francesca’s I know are all know as Chess/Chessie. If you like Frankie I think Francesca is a good option as if she doesn’t like ‘frankie’ when she’s older she’ll have some options

Thanks - I am liking Francesca, but dh is set on Frankie. I also like Josie and Cassie.....

Why would one change a beautiful name like Francesca to a harsh unfeminine name like Frankie?!

I LOVE Frankie for Francesca, loved it ever since that .
I also like Jacqueline and Samantha. Jacqui, Frankie and Sam were going to be my girl triplets. Grin

@RockafellerSkank that song is the very reason my DM named me Francesca Grin
I was often referred to as Frankie right throughout primary, but by time I got to secondary I couldn't stand the nn and became Fran or Cheska.

OP, if you like Francesca then I'd say still go for it, but perhaps convince DH not to force one nn on her, and let DD decide what she prefers as becomes old enough

The Francesca that I know goes by Franchi. I like that more than Frankie... it has a softer ending of ’chee’ rather than a hard ‘key’ sound.
As you like Josie and cassie maybe franchi is a good compromise.Smile
