Spring middle name for our baby girl...

With 1 week to go until my DD, we’ve settled on Emilia which we plan to shorten to “Millie” but are struggling with a middle name. I’d like something more adventurous with spring connotations but I’m not a fan of Iris or Ivy and our surname has 2 syllables.

Please help! This is the last outstanding thing on the list before I can relax and wait for the contractions to start 😉

Daisy! Such a cheerful name and a wonderful way to reflect the season.

If the baby does go over and ends up being born in April, April and Avril are lovely names.

I know you don't have to use the month they were born, but it would seem odd to use April if she was born in March?

Emilia Lily was on X factor or something (I think it was Amelia) but those two names do go nicely.

TheQueenOfWands · 12/03/2018 21:59

Ooooo, I love Nova!

Smoliver · 13/03/2018 22:27

Chloe (name means "young green shoot")
Nova (name means "new")
Jade
Emerald
Blossom
Bluebell
Buttercup
Jasmine
Iris
Lily
Peony
Posey
Marigold
Joy (not a Spring name per say, but Spring makes me think of joyful things!)
Rae (like a "Ray of sunshine")

Smoliver · 13/03/2018 22:30

Also Brooke (means small stream)

Smoliver · 13/03/2018 22:31

And also, sorry I've just seen you don't like Iris! Wouldn't have suggested otherwise!

LoveInTokyo · 13/03/2018 23:07

Margaret (or the French Marguerite, which means daisy). More subtle and grown up than actually using Daisy, and Margaret is probably due a comeback.

Emilia Posy is nice. A posy of spring flowers.

Emilia Meadow

Emilia Hebe, for the Greek goddess of youth? That's pretty spring-like.

thegreylady · 14/03/2018 23:18

Violet would be a lovely middle name I think

blackteasplease · 14/03/2018 23:42

hoppy I know what you mean about standard filler middle names. Mine was Ann like a billion girls my age! (born late 70s)

Why bother giving a child a middle name that means nothing to you!

VileyRose · 15/03/2018 09:09

April
Violet
Primrose
Blossom
Clover
Sky
Lily
Pansy
Lilac

Pascale is a French girls name and means Easter.

madamedepoppadom · 17/03/2018 15:56

Another vote for Violet. They're pretty flowers and I know of an Olivia Violet, which has the same rhythm to it and I think it works quite well.
