Guessing Game

Thought this would make a fun thread and maybe also provide names for people that are choosing that they wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

Think of a name (your child's or any name really) and provide 3 clues.

Other posters have to guess the name and once someone gets it right, it's their turn!

I'll start:

2 syllables

Very definitely a boys name but there is a feminine version

2 very common abbreviations/nicknames

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DuggeeHugs · 13/03/2018 18:34

Ahh! I'm learning a lot from this forum Smile

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 19:03

Sorry, that lot doesn"t suggest anything to me.... and the only two future royals I can think of are Jack and Meghan,...... I don't really do pop.

applesandpears56 · 13/03/2018 19:05

Rachel

applesandpears56 · 13/03/2018 19:05

Her stage character name

DuggeeHugs · 13/03/2018 19:09

@applesandpears56 it is indeed Rachel.

Rachel from Cold Feet, Rachel Meghan Markle and Rachel Stevens

user1459464195 · 13/03/2018 19:16

Didn't know that Rachel was Meghan's first name.... this thread is educational!

applesandpears56 · 13/03/2018 19:24

Ok so...
three syllables, a prime minsters name, a minor royal’s name

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 19:26

Margaret?

applesandpears56 · 13/03/2018 19:27

Yes!

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 19:34

Another royal name, but probably not in the way you might think.
Going back a few years it could be elementary or foxy.

DuggeeHugs · 13/03/2018 19:37

Samantha?

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 19:52

No: male name.

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 19:53

Looks like it's just thee and me here tonight....

masktaster · 13/03/2018 19:54

Rex?

DuggeeHugs · 13/03/2018 19:59

Dang - I'd actually managed to shoehorn Samantha into all three clues!

James?

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 20:00

Nope

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 20:01

Masktaster has got the right idea, just the wrong language.

masktaster · 13/03/2018 20:07

Ohhhhh, Basil?

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 13/03/2018 20:08

I would have said basil too.

DuggeeHugs · 13/03/2018 20:11

Reginald?

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 20:11

That's it.... I was toying with clues about continental churches and herbs.
Over to Masktaster

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 20:11

Basil, not Reginald.

HecatesBroom · 13/03/2018 20:13

Boom, boom!

(showing my age: I bet lots of you young things don't remember Basil Brush....)

masktaster · 13/03/2018 20:16

Boom boom Grin

Hmm...
Bringer of light
Also bringer of fire and pain
Cartoon cat

masktaster · 13/03/2018 20:17

(showing my age: I bet lots of you young things don't remember Basil Brush....)

Shh.. he came back for a few years in the 00s, filled my weekend mornings even though I was technically too old for CBBC by then Grin
