How many Olivers do you know?

We love the name Oliver, but I just checked baby name lists and it seems to be super popular. Thoughts? Do you know lots of little ones with this name??!

I know several, but more who are older (18+) than babies. It's like the name Olivia - statistically very popular, so clearly a lot of people are using the name, but it's not being used in my circle presumably because it's so popular statistically. It's bizarre.

I love the name though.

About 5. Family and circle of friends use this name.

Loads. There are three in my son’s class!

A man of 50. A man of 40. Three or four in their 20s. Three or four in their teens.

No others, but that's because I don't know many young children.

I work in a school of about 400 and we have 5, from year 2 through to year 11.

1. One is my 16yo.

I used to know one more who would be 47 now. God knows where they all are. They aren’t here.

4 the eldest is 10 and the youngest will be 1 later this year.
Just because it's a popular name doesn't mean that it's popular in your area. We thought we had picked a non popular name for DD it wasn't in the top 50 and there are 3 in her year group and a least 1 in the lower 2 year groups.

Always liked the name and the one I know is a really lovely boy.

Three in my son’s nursery. But I notice them because I have one. It was the only name we both liked so decided to accept he might always be Oliver initial. He knows no different.

I don't know any from my 2 yr olds' groups/classes, but did go to school with one.

Loads, out of 6 babies I know born in the last 2 years, 3 are Olivers

A lot of babies near me are being called Oliver, I know several around 18 too

A lot! Ignoring the grown up ones (and a few Oliviers) I would say 50% of the boys I know are called Oliver. It is a lovely classic name though so I see why so many parents pick it.

I have met lots of Olivers and Ollies of all ages, but only really know one well. I know lots of Olivias too.

It is popular, but if it’s what you love then just go for it.

I also come across it very regularly at toddler groups/ the park / soft play etc

It was a front-runner on our boys list 2 years ago (we had a girl) but I just couldn't get past how popular it was / is. I'm glad we never used it as he would of been one of many already amongst toddler friends
