windchimesabotage · 05/03/2018 22:54

Very pretty!

BloodyMarie · 05/03/2018 22:56

This is the first name that i have ever seen suggested on MN, which i like.

Isolda is a good one too (i dont think that is how you spell it)

WishITookLifeSeriously · 05/03/2018 23:00

I know one.

The name is mysterious and beautiful.

LoveInTokyo · 05/03/2018 23:01

It’s pretty but people will assume you named your child after the character in Poldark.

Buntysoven · 05/03/2018 23:06

I adore it. One of the many DH vetoed. No taste some people!

Sophronia · 05/03/2018 23:20

Love it

Pittcuecothecookbook · 05/03/2018 23:22

It's the name of a well known children's hospice in my area

Pemba · 06/03/2018 00:35

I think it was actually invented as a name by the writer of the Poldark books, so in the 1950s. Previously I think it might have been a place name, somewhere very tiny in Cornwall, if I remember right.

lecossaise · 06/03/2018 00:50

I think there's one in Harry Potter too. It does sound quite magical, which may or may not be what you are going for (I quite like it!).

pipilangstrumpf · 06/03/2018 08:14

Looks beautiful.

Never heard of poldark and doubt many kids will

Pemba · 06/03/2018 09:07

Has the BBC TV show passed you by then? There will probably be another series later in the year.

Skippetydoodah · 06/03/2018 09:13

I went to school with one. As soon as she was old enough she changed it by deed poll to Jane!

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 06/03/2018 09:14

I like it!

Luckingfovely · 06/03/2018 09:15

Gorgeous!

BangBangPurple · 06/03/2018 09:20

It's nice but if your child ever wants to live down South, as a PP said it's a very well known children's hospice/charity.

beguilingeyes · 06/03/2018 09:35

"It’s pretty but people will assume you named your child after the character in Poldark."

It wasn't a name until Winston Graham put it in the first Poldark book. It's also a hamlet in Cornwall (which is where WG got the name from)

17caterpillars1mouse · 06/03/2018 11:07

Its quite nice but I don't think I'd like to be called it so wouldn't use it for a child

She could be Demi for short

RainbowsAndPixieDust · 06/03/2018 11:39

Before I saw the area you'd posted in, I assumed it was a thread about the children's hospice. It's very well known in and around London.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/03/2018 11:41

Fabulous name, I know a little Dezi.

Elfyn · 06/03/2018 14:30

Love it!

HotCrossBunFight · 06/03/2018 14:34

I think it's quite ugly sounding. Sorry!

HuskyMcClusky · 06/03/2018 14:38

I think it's quite ugly sounding. Sorry!

Glad it’s not just me. I don’t find it appealing at all.

Kari55 · 06/03/2018 20:14
