Pleb?

After arguing for a good 5 weeks me and dh finally settled on the name poppy for our dd who is supposed to arrive next week, we also both chose a middle name that means a lot to us (our mums names) so her full name will be Poppy Louise Elizabeth Bennett but if just realised her initials will be pleb - does this matter? I said we could just swap the middle names around but dh not keen on that and now wants to change her first name. He likes Angel!!

Oh jesus no, don't call her Pleb. Swap the initials around. Angel isn't great but how about Angelica? Ideally I'd keep Poppy.

Poppy Elizabeth Louise Bennett is ok. He's right it doesn't flow quite as well but you won't use her whole name all that often after you've told everyone her name & registered her.

How about Lydia Jane Elizabeth Kitty Mary Bennett?
Or if you want to go a bit posher Georgiana Darcy?

If you have a DS, Gordon is a great name.

My orthodontist was called Gordon Bennett many moons ago!!

I would swap them. Not just because it will definitely be noticed her initials are PLEB but I think it flows much nicer the other way anyway.

Swap the middle names (for ages Poppy Elizabeth was my ideal girls first and middle name combination btw so great choices there!)

It’s such an easy change and it will spare her embarrassment (thinking of post addressed to Miss P L E Bennett for example that sort of highlights the initials)

Why does it matter which way round the middle names are? Swapping them is a much smaller and less significant alteration than changing her first name entirely, that's for sure.

Plus Angel is a horrible name.

I would swap her middle names round. My initials until I got married spelt LACK after about 3 minutes it got boring with people asking me what I lack.

If you're not keen on the flow, have you thought about playing around with variants of the names instead? I know some people don't like to mess about with family names too much (myself included) but what about using Eliza/Liza/Beth for Elizabeth or Louisa for Louise?

I think 2 middle names is an unnecessary mouthful.

I would either hold back one of the middle names for DC2, or drop Poppy and just go with them.

If Elizabeth is the middle name it will hardly ever come up and the P&P references will be negligible. Even as a first name it will only be occasional.

Definitely matters. Our DD chosen name originally gave the initials VAG so now we're adding another middle name. Initials on things at school, like artwork, will be hellish. My dad used to threaten to add another middle name so my initials would be SNOG but PLEB is much worse imo. Switch the middle names.
