What are our thoughts of Aeron? Pronounced ay-ron
Welsh boys name

I like it, though I would probably spell it Aaron.

SomeKnobend · 04/03/2018 17:54

Do you live in Wales? I'm in England and to me it says "air-on" and is a bit 1990s. Ay-ron doesn't appeal to me tbh, something sci-fi sounding about it (reminds me of L-Ron maybe) but maybe locally, with a Welsh accent and it being traditional, maybe it'll sound nicer in context.

EssentialHummus · 04/03/2018 17:55

I'm only familiar with the Aaron spelling, so Aeron looks a bit odd to me (and I expect he'll be spelling his name a lot). I like it though.

sonyaya · 04/03/2018 17:58

Looks a bit like a Taergaryen name to me with that spelling, it’s lovely but I prefer it spelt Aaron

dementedpixie · 04/03/2018 18:00

I wouldn't pronounce Aaron as Ay-Ron though. I would say Ah-Ron.

DramaAlpaca · 04/03/2018 18:15

I haven't come across it before. It's nice.

Brandnewstart · 04/03/2018 18:44

My friend spells it Ayreon. We are in Wales. He's the only one I know and I think it's lovely.

turnipfarmers · 04/03/2018 21:41

How would you pronounce it? To me, Aaron is Air-en but most people I know pronounce it Arun.

Ay-ron is much nicer.

fluffypenguinbelly · 04/03/2018 21:44

I think if you aren't in Wales he would be having to correct people a lot. I'm afraid my non Welsh self would pronounce it Air-ron.

ErrantBakedBean · 04/03/2018 21:48

I figure this is something people won't remember very soon, but it makes me think of Key & Peele 'you done messed up Ay-ay-ron!'
