We have just found out that we are having a baby girl. After two boys it’s a wonderful surprise. I recently heard this name , she was such a beautiful, elegant woman and I fell in love with the name . Any thoughts ? We are not French but Anna-Marie goes well with our surname .

Congratulations! I would say if you are in love with the name, go for it! I don’t think it matters that you aren’t French, a lot of the most popular girls names recently have origins in other countries. Sophia, Olivia, Belle....

I like Anna-Marie. I wouldn't say it was particularly French, though. Anne-Marie seems more French. Or you could have Anna-Maria, which seems more Italian.

To me it flows better as either Ann(e)-Marie, or Anna-Maria

Anna Maria flows more

I think Anne-Marie or Anna-Maria sounds better.

Congrats. Flowers

I went to school with a lot of Catholic Anne-Maries and none of them we're French. It is one of the only hyphenated names I really like, Anna-Marie is lovely.

How weird! I've just commented on another thread suggesting Anna Maria. I prefer Maria to Marie personally.
