Which of these names do you prefer and why? Any other suggestions that I might like? Thanks in advance!

I quite like Luca. Freddie sounds a bit like a baddy from a creepy film. Do you like Ellis? Or prefer old fashioned type names?

Mrschainsawuk · 03/03/2018 23:32

For some reason luca makes me think of vampires haha Freddie that evil guy I like theo

SuperBeagle · 04/03/2018 06:00

Theo.

I only like Freddie as a shortening for Frederick.

Downeyhouse · 04/03/2018 06:14

I have a Luca - 16 years on I still love the name. It has worked well at all stages of life so far.

So Luca gets my vote.

Elfyn · 04/03/2018 06:48

Luca
Theo

Freddie

I actually really like Freddie! I think it's due a comeback! Next would be Theo - classic, not over used. Finally Luca - not a huge fan tbh but it is nice enough.

witherwings · 04/03/2018 07:26

I have School age kids and those names are very popular now.
Theo is least common.
I love the name Luca though and it was on our list of favourite boy name options (I’ve got girls)

greendale17 · 04/03/2018 07:35

I like Luca.

Freddie is becoming very popular- I already know two that have been born this year

deptfordgirl · 04/03/2018 07:36

I really like Luca. I like Theo but it's very popular.
Dislike Freddie.

marmitecrumpets · 04/03/2018 07:37

Freddie

PinkAvocado · 04/03/2018 07:40

I’ve never met a Luca (although know of a teenage one) but know a few children called Theo and Freddie. I really dislike Freddie.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/03/2018 09:15

Freddie or Theo. Not keen on Theodore of Luca.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/03/2018 09:15

*or.

EleanorXx · 04/03/2018 14:14

Theo is my sons name, and I adore it. Luca and Freddie are also great names. Do you like Oscar?

ClaudiaWankleman · 04/03/2018 14:18

I think Luca sounds stupid unless you have a connection to a country/ language where it's a traditional name.

MikeUniformMike · 04/03/2018 14:22

Theo is nice but very popular. I don't like Freddie or Fred. Luca is a bit too foreign but Luke and Lucas are nice.

YerAuntFanny · 04/03/2018 14:28

By connection to a country I assume you mean an accent? Otherwise how can a name sound stupid because you wouldn't know the family background Confused

All of these names are popular here in NE Scotland if that's an issue, I know 3 Luca's, 4 Freddie's and 2 Theo's under 10.

With that said popularity doesn't bother me and I like them all. Luca is my favourite.

MikeUniformMike · 04/03/2018 14:34

I think she meant that Luca for a boy with no Italian forebears sounds stupid.
I don't particularly like using a name from a different culture or name but I would say it seems naff rather than stupid.
I know many names have their roots in a different language but have been used in the UK for centuries.
Ya'aqov, Iacobus or James?

ClaudiaWankleman · 04/03/2018 14:54

You assume wrong Fanny...

If you're naming him after Grandfather Luca, I think that's rather sweet. If you're fed up of Luke and think the 'a' gives him an exotic edge, then I think it's wanky.

daisypond · 04/03/2018 15:08

I like Theo the most. I like Freddie as a short form for Frederick, not as a name in itself. I do like Luca as well, but I would assume you had Italian connections.

Heartofglass12345 · 04/03/2018 15:11

I really liked lucas, but wouldnt want it shortened to luke. I have an ellis and its not too common but not too weird. My other son has a welsh name. I like luca and theo but not a huge fan of freddie

TurquoiseDress · 04/03/2018 16:00

I love the name Luca it's gorgeous...my preferred one out of this list!

Brittanyspears · 04/03/2018 17:26

I know at least 4 freddies (kids) and another 2 in DD nursery class. Not due a come back, its already been and is back! I now two Theos (toddlers).
Luca is nice.

Downeyhouse · 04/03/2018 19:01

Should have said my Luca is 1/2 Italian.

TheRedHatofPatFerrick · 04/03/2018 19:08

Milo
Fynn
Laurence
All your names are quite popular. I prefer Theo.
