Boy name!

We are really struggling for a boy name for dc2. Already have a Thea and if this baby is a girl she will be Iris. We want what everyone wants - a name that's a bit unusual but not unheard of or weird. But there's just nothing that I love. Some names that we have on the shortlist are:
Asher
Percy (dh hates this)
August (ditto)

Our surname has a -man ending which rules out anything ending in an.
Does anyone have any ideas? I feel like I've looked at and rejected every boy name there's ever been!

Aster (its on my girls list but I think it's cool for a boy)
Grayson/Gray
Cassius (i would shorten to cass)

Busymummy34 · 02/03/2018 20:37

Albie
Arthur
Harris

Ca55andraMortmain · 02/03/2018 20:40

I love Arthur but we have a close relative whose son has this name so we can't use it. Dh won't consider Harris because of Rolf Harris (tenuous...) Like Albie but not Albert. Aster and Grayson seem a bit too American (not an issue in itself obviously but we aren't American) and Cassius is nice but seems a big name to live up to.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! Of the names suggested I quite like Saul and Ezra, but probably not enough to use them. Joel has definite potential though!

Annoyingly Rowan, Lachlan and Solomon would all have been strong contenders but they just sound ridiculous with our -man ending last name!

If I ever have a boy he will be Edwin nn Ned. It's a tribute name but I'd use it anyway!

Ca55andraMortmain · 03/03/2018 10:25

Ned is actually really nice and not one we'd considered so far. I'll run it by dh
