Boy name indecision

I think weve narrowed it down to Lucas or Ethan, with an outside chance of Nathaniel, but we cant seem to commit to one.

Surname will be Lee.

Other names we like but arent 'the one' are Sebastian, Reuben, Jacob, Arran, Rory, Alexander, Jonas, Jesse and Rowan. We also love Isaac but doesnt work with the surname.

So from our shortlist of 3, which would you pick? Or is there another perfect name we've overlooked?!

Ethan lee is less of a tounge twister than your other preferred names. But I like Alexander lee more.

Purplerain101 · 02/03/2018 17:51

Ethan Lee is much nicer than Lucas Lee.
Of your other suggestions I like Arran, Roman and Alexander

Purplerain101 · 02/03/2018 17:51

*Rowan not Roman

chezmk1988 · 02/03/2018 18:08

Ethan out of the 3 you've picked.

HareandTortoise · 02/03/2018 18:10

Thanks both .

We love Alexander too, but really dont want to end up with Alex (we have a couple of close 'Alex' friends and family) and it would be inevitable i think. We have pretty much decided it will be his middle name for either Lucas or Ethan though.

Our other list is of names either DH or I like, but the other isnt keen enough on to use as a first name. Just wanted to give an idea of the kind of names we like in case it inspires something we havent thought of Grin

I know it's not on your list anymore but I think Issac Lee sounds lovely...
Other than that, I really like Ethan Lee.

BangBangPurple · 02/03/2018 18:17

Alexander could be Xander instead of Alex! Xander Lee is lovely.

MyNewBearTotoro · 02/03/2018 18:19

I hate Ethan but think Lucas Lee is adorable. I also think Isaac Lee works - said aloud it does sound a bit like ‘Exactly’ but I don’t think that’s a huge problem.

sproutsandparsnips · 02/03/2018 18:21

Lewis?
Out of the 3 Ethan would be my choice - it's lovely.

PhuntSox · 02/03/2018 18:25

James Lee

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 02/03/2018 18:25

Ethan Lee, good strong name.😄

user1498549192 · 02/03/2018 18:44

I like Lucas best of those three; I think it's lovely.

I'll throw in Jonah and Felix as alternative options.

Wishfulmakeupping · 02/03/2018 18:46

Really love Nathaniel Lee good strong name and if it gets shortened to Nate Lee that sounds very cool definitely 👍
Sebastian would be my next choice

Ilovemybaby91 · 02/03/2018 19:12

Nathaniel Alexander Lee 👍🏼 As said above Nate for short.. strong boys name! Or Lucas Alexander Lee is nice too... Grin

userabcname · 02/03/2018 19:14

I like Ethan, Nathanial and Isaac.

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/03/2018 19:14

Lucas or Nathaniel

I really don't like Ethan

ElizaDontlittle · 02/03/2018 19:18

I prefer Nathaniel - especially with your surname I think you want a long name to balance it. I like Lucas but I'm not sure it goes. Love Sebastian - probably my current favourite baby boy name!

NameChange30 · 02/03/2018 19:19

Ethan!

Elfyn · 02/03/2018 19:27

Nathaniel is a beautiful name.

greendale17 · 02/03/2018 19:31

I like Nathaniel Lee too

HareandTortoise · 02/03/2018 19:42

Thanks everyone. Im not sure we're any closer yet but it does help to have outside input!

My trouble is I prefer Nathaniel and Lucas as stand alone names, but concede that Ethan probably works better with surname, and I do still like it. DH isnt as keen on Nathaniel as I am.

With Lucas I 90% love the alliteration but have 10% doubt, and Nathaniel ending in 'l' and surname starting with L is maybe a bit clumsy. It's so difficult!

Jonah is nice too but as DH didnt like Jonas enough I doubt he'll go for it! Sebastian is one of DH's choices, and I love it as a full name but dislike Seb.

Wow, this is basically my list of boys names! Suffice to say we have very, very similar styles.

I'll throw into the mix my other favourites:

Matthew, Joseph, Aaron, Samuel, Thomas, Timothy, Daniel, Jared.

Matthew Lee sounds good

Also, would you consider Nathan as opposed to Nathaniel? Nathan Lee sounds great. Also Nathan seems to "bridge the gap" between Nathaniel and Ethan.

Otherwise I'd go for Nathaniel Lee (fabulous name!)

Afternoon · 02/03/2018 20:37

Nathan Lee would work well.

Matthew Lee
Albert Lee
Victor Lee
Edwin Lee
Oliver Lee
Adam Lee
Joshua Lee
David Lee
Alban Lee
Jasper Lee
Benjamin Lee
Ryan Lee
Andrew Lee
Oscar Lee
Torin Lee
Damian Lee
Jonathan Lee

Afternoon · 02/03/2018 20:39

Joseph is a nice suggestion but with your surname sounds like Joe's a flea!

SnowShow1 · 02/03/2018 21:34

I teach an Emma Lea (obviously sounds like Emily) but personally think it's lovely. Therefore I'd go with the alliteration of Lucas Lee- brilliant!

Also knew an Amy May.... 😎
