Phoebe or Saffron

Really struggling to decide!

I think Phoebe is a lovely cute name for a little girl, but it's in the top 20 so she'd potentially have a few classmates with the same name.

Saffron could be a great name to grow into (she'd be Saffie in the meantime). But perhaps it's a bit too wacky? Phoebe feels a little safer.

What do people think? Or else, if you hate both, I'd love to hear ideas for other names with a similar vibe!

Thanks all x

Phoebe.

To me, Saffron is a kind of rice, and Saffy is the girl from Ab Fab. Neither is a particularly bad association, of course, but because Saffron is so uncommon, those associations tend to be more prevalent.

Saffron is chavvy.
Phoebe is a beautiful name.

Plasticgold · 02/03/2018 01:52

I have a Phoebe. She only has one other in her school of 600.

Argeles · 02/03/2018 02:40

Saffron is lovely.

Sophronia · 02/03/2018 05:42

Saffron

KanielOutis · 02/03/2018 06:11

I have a Saffron. Her best friend is Phoebe. I don't know any others of either name.

FartnissEverbeans · 02/03/2018 06:11

I love Saffron. I know too many Phoebes

Arapaima · 02/03/2018 06:13

I like Saffron. I don’t know anyone of either name!

Baubletrouble43 · 02/03/2018 06:21

Saffron. They are both beautiful though xx

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/03/2018 07:00

Phoebe

I don’t think Saffron sounds like a grown up
name at all.

Starryskiesinthesky · 02/03/2018 07:08

Have heard of lots of little Phoebe's lately. Not sure where it is in top 100 but it's getting really common.

Saffron is more unusual but cant decide if I like it or not!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 02/03/2018 07:50

Saffron.

AnyaMoondial · 02/03/2018 07:58

Saffron is nice but phoebe is my favourite.

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/03/2018 09:14

Definitely Phoebe

user1459464195 · 02/03/2018 09:43

Saffron definitely. Much, much more unusual and interesting than Phoebe.

CatsForgotPassword · 02/03/2018 12:35

Saffron.

It’s not chavvy either. I knew one in my school and my SIL is Saffron. Beautiful unusual name.

FreeNiki · 02/03/2018 13:38

I like them both.

Leaning towards Phoebe though. It means bright and shining.

MaryPoppinsStoleMyHandbag · 02/03/2018 14:51

Love Phoebe. Dislike Saffron. Don’t know anyone - young or old - with either name.

DiegoMadonna · 02/03/2018 14:52

Phoebe by a million miles

Purpledahlia88 · 02/03/2018 14:54

Phoebe I love it, saffron to me is hippyish

Grauniad · 02/03/2018 14:54

Ha, I know someone with one of each!

For what it's worth, their Phoebe used to get nicknamed Beefy (she wasn't).

WanderingTrolley1 · 02/03/2018 14:56

Phoebe.

FairyFantastic · 02/03/2018 15:00

Phoebe

Threeandabit · 02/03/2018 15:05

I like both. I would probably prefer to be called Phoebe out of the two though.

marmitecrumpets · 02/03/2018 15:40

Saffron
