I'm torn!

DS is adopted and I'm currently filling out the paperwork for his adoption order. We won't be changing his first name.

If we had had a birth child, he would have been Alexander James. As fate would have it, our boy is a James.

But is he a James Logan, or a James Alexander?

I've been set on Logan for a while but I'm having second thoughts. He will have a double barrel (but not hyphenated) surname so I feel like we can't have two middle names too?

This is too much pressure!

I'd go for James Alexander. It feels classic, strong and robust.

James Alexander for me. Very traditional and strong.

I'd give both the names you love. Who cares if he has two surnames. Shove them all in so you don't miss out

I think the fact I'm so happy that it's unanimous goes to show he is definitely a James Alexander then Grin

It doesn't matter that I've already sent out the thank you cards with James Logan on them does it?!

Just claim that it's like registering a birth, you can change the name within 12 months. Wink

flapjackfairy · 26/02/2018 08:02

I also love James Alexander.
I adopted my little one just over a yr ago . Coincidentally he is called your other choice of middle name ! Wouldnt have ever chosen it ourselves but love it. It just really suits him imo. Like you we added a middle name we loved.
Oh it is so exciting making it all official and as the adop order not yet granted his middle name is not official anyway so no issue with changing it at all.
Anyway many congratulations to you all xxx
