Years and years ago we were on holiday a d there was a family with a toddler son called Jed. He was the cutest little kid and somewhere in the back of my mind I've always hankered after my own little Jed.
Do you think Jed is a name in its own right or is it short for something? And if So, what?
Dh thinks Jed is a ridiculous name so it's probably a no but I'm not quite giving up on it yet.

I have a friend with a Jed. I normally don't like nickname sounding names as proper names but I do like this one. It's marmite though- with just the right surname it would be fab. It's not a name that would go with just anyone though.

Jed Bartlet's nickname in the West Wing is a conflation of his two given names, Josiah Edward

Aah, so we could go with something mainstream like James Edward with nn Jed. A possible compromise, thanks!

I like it! Sounds cool! Knew a Jed not sure if it was short for anything thou

The Jed I knew was short for Jethro.

What about Jago?
