Rosamund (Rosie), Scarlett (Ettie) or Isla (we have a cousin called Lyla so she may need to be Izzy) or Annabelle (other cousin though is Annie...Ann is in both family name). Thanks

Scarlett

bridgetreilly · 23/02/2018 22:46

Rosamund/Rosie
Annabel/Annie (much prefer this spelling)
Scarlet/Ettie
Isla/Issy

ineedamoreadultieradult · 23/02/2018 22:46

Isla

BikeRunSki · 23/02/2018 22:47

Scarlett

Izzy isn’t an abbreviation of Isla, the “I” sound is different!

mondler · 23/02/2018 23:19

Scarlett gets my vote

dantdmistedious · 23/02/2018 23:25

Scarlett

SuperBeagle · 24/02/2018 00:08

I don't see how you can get Izzy from Isla? They're completely different sounds.

I like Scarlett best, but again, wouldn't encourage you to set your heart on the Ettie shortening, because I can't see it coming naturally to most people.

Meandmy4 · 24/02/2018 00:16

Ettie is super cute !
Although i wouldn't personally get ettie from scarlett.

Didiusfalco · 24/02/2018 00:31

Those are nice names but why would you want to force a nickname rather than using the lovely name you’ve chosen? Confused

brizzledrizzle · 24/02/2018 00:33

Rosamund nn Rosa

Time40 · 24/02/2018 00:49

Isla

DramaAlpaca · 24/02/2018 00:51

Rosamund - rose of the world. Lovely.

I can't get past the scar bit of Scarlett, and Ettie isn't an obvious nn. Neither is Izzy for Isla.

Annabelle is fussy & frilly. Annabel is much nicer.

UnicornSnot · 24/02/2018 00:53

Rosamund - divine
Isla

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 24/02/2018 01:08

I don’t get why parents think they can make up nns. They develop naturally. Call them what you want but the second they’re out of your sight they will be called either by their full name or a shortening of that name rather than some totally unrelated sound. This will start from the moment the first midwife walks into your room at the hospital after you give birth.

Scarlett is lovely but people will call her Scar.

Isla is lovely and she will be called Isla.

Rosamund would likely be shortened to Rosie or Rosa so go with that if you actually want her to be called by a nn constantly.

ChocolateCrunch · 24/02/2018 01:21

Annabelle

HuskyMcClusky · 24/02/2018 03:47

Iwas hit the nail on the head.

Sophronia · 24/02/2018 05:04

Rosamund

IggyAce · 24/02/2018 05:20

Scarlett, but don't set your heart of on a particular nn. We had one for DD but she didn't like it once she got to school as it sounded too much like her friends name. Now she is older another couple of nn have developed, can't say I love them but she's happy.

marmitecrumpets · 24/02/2018 05:25

Scarlet

Elfyn · 24/02/2018 07:29

Definitely Rosamund

deptfordgirl · 24/02/2018 07:33

My favourite is Annabelle followed by Rosamund. Really dislike Scarlett and Isla is pretty but so so popular at the moment.

nivky · 24/02/2018 07:42

Thanks all. Think we have Rosamund and Scarlett as our two choices :-) other two are too similar to cousins.....which would be fairly tricky.
