Due any day. Thought I'd decided but now having a wobble.
Will or Eben?
There is a cousin Ben.
Middle name will probably be Archie.
Thanks

Eben is a bit similar to Ben maybe? I like it though

Chocolateyescakeyes · 22/02/2018 21:35

Never heard of Eben, but I like it.

MikeUniformMike · 22/02/2018 21:38

Eben. It doesn't really sound like Benn - more like Ebb'n'flow.

falang · 22/02/2018 21:39

Eben sounds like it's short for Ebony

tumblrpigeon · 22/02/2018 21:51

Oh no

upsideup · 22/02/2018 21:53

Definately Eben, Will is very boring

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 22/02/2018 21:53

I love the name Eben. (Great character from the play 'Desire Under the Elms'!)

pipilangstrumpf · 22/02/2018 21:58

Will as in will you and only one letter from willy.. Really Shock

pipilangstrumpf · 22/02/2018 21:58

Eben definitely!

slashdragon · 22/02/2018 22:00

Eben.

This was on my shortlist too but DH vetoed it.

Also like Eren, Oren, Griffin and Knox 🙂

In no way would I think this was short for Ebony Confused

blinkineckmum · 22/02/2018 22:18

Thanks for the opinions. Funny no-one has said Will yet.

Will, but short for something (William, Wilson, Wilfred, Wilbur, Wilder etc).

I would pronounce Eben like the word even or the name Eden, not live the name Evan.

Newnaime · 22/02/2018 22:24

I read it like EdenBlush

slashdragon · 22/02/2018 22:29

I like the name William, or even Willem, but I wouldn't use Will without it being the shortened version of a full name.

I know five year olds called both Wilfred and Wilbur if those could be Will options.

toffee1000 · 22/02/2018 22:29

Will is better. Eben doesn’t even sound like a name to me!! Plus it’s too similar to Ben.

mollymawk · 22/02/2018 22:33

I know someone with an Eben, they say it with a short E (ebb-un), it’s nice but maybe watch out with Archie as a middle name. Eben Archie immediately sounds like Liberace or Fibonacci to me (but perhaps if you don’t know any mathematicians that is ok!).

blinkineckmum · 22/02/2018 22:39

To clarify. Will would be William, but known as Will. Eben is pronounced Ebbun.
Thanks for all the opinions.

Definitely William Smile

wilts09 · 22/02/2018 23:55

I never heard of Eben but I kinda like it. EDEN was on my boys list but hubby vetoed it and we had a girl anyway. Xx

ChocolateCrunch · 23/02/2018 03:10

William

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/02/2018 03:11

Will

William nn Will is a fantastic name.

pipilangstrumpf · 23/02/2018 08:37

William is ok but I really dislike will. It's a verb (Will, will you..or Will will not...) and a noun, and so easy to tease with Willy! I honestly don't see the attraction.

Eben sounds interesting.

Ontopofthesunset · 23/02/2018 08:50

Definitely William and Will. Eben doesn't sound like a finished word to me.

I understand people's objections to Will (feel similarly negative towards Harry) but honestly there are so many boys out there called Will. No one teases them or mistakes their name for a verb. There's been at least one boy called Will in every one of my sons' activities and classes over the last twenty years and no one has ever tittered or batted an eyelid.

deptfordgirl · 23/02/2018 08:55

I prefer Will

TheDowagerCuntess · 23/02/2018 08:56

DS's best friend is Will(iam). He doesn't get any teasing.

Great name.
