Hi all

We have a boys name sorted if we have another boy but struggling to agree on a girls name! Our surname begins with H and is a short and harsh sound.
Here's our top list so far ... what do you guys think and do you have any other recommendations?? Patricia is my late mums name so would like this as the middle name
Maeve (Mavie)
Orla / Orlaith
Niamh
Elizabeth (Libby)
Elizabella/Elisabella
April
Ariella
Emmie
Elodie

I like Elizabeth and Elodie best from your list.

My favourites are Niamh and Elizabeth. Both very strong sounding, really solid but pretty names.

I like Orla best from your list but I don't think it would work with Patricia as a MN so probably I'd go for Elizabeth (Libby) as second choice (or add another N). Have you considered Elspeth? I think that works even better with Callum.

Elodie and Orla are my favourites

Ariella Patricia is really beautiful 😊

Some lovely names there. My favourites are Maeve, Ariella, April and Elodie. Probably Ariella Patricia or Elodie Patricia 'go' better together.

As you have a short hard sounding name go for something with a flow and softness like Elizabeth/Elizabella.

Annabelle4 · 16/02/2018 18:07

Ciara

MammieBear · 16/02/2018 18:08

Niamh is my favourite from your list I think is lovely with Callum.

I like Maeve, Elodie and Elizabeth (especially with the nickname Libby.) They go nicely with big brother Callum and Patricia would work as a middle name for all 3 names too Smile

Having a name ending in an -ah sound wouldn't really work with Patricia. Niamh/Maeve is the best from your list but have you considered other short names like Mary, Erin or Emer?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/02/2018 07:25

Emmie Patricia is nice. Emmie is a soft, pretty name, to combat the harsh surname.

Thank you all x lots of mixed reviews which is making me more confused Grin
I don't think we are too bothered about the 'a' sound and then having Patricia as a middle name as we won't ever say them together so it'll be the first name and surname that will be most important I think Wink

Someone did mention ages ago that they thought Ariella reminded them of Areola ... did anyone else think this?! we really like this name but wouldn't want them to be picked on! We were thinking they'd either be shortened to Ella or Ari depending on what they preferred when they got older?

I prefer Mariella.😄
