Tate is the best of the three, but I'm not keen on any of them.

I wouldn't know where to begin with suggesting names, because Barnaby, Fergus and Tate are all poles apart in terms of style. What sort of names do you like?

DogzBollox · 06/02/2018 21:41

I don’t know! Don’t think I’ve got a style! Don’t like many boys’ names at all. I don’t really like the traditional ones that there are loads of purely because I think there’s quite a small pool of boys’ names that you just hear all the time.

Tate is nice, the rest are bloody awful.

Fergus.
Barnaby! I ask you.

NC4Now · 06/02/2018 21:42

Hamish

Foxedme · 06/02/2018 21:44

I love Fergus, and also Angus.
I know a little boy called Barnaby which I like though not so keen on Barney (though he never gets called that).
Not a fan of Tate... a bit to American like Cole and Chase etc...

I quite like Silas as a not so popular name.

Mrsknackered · 06/02/2018 21:56

I hate Fergus, but I like Angus and Gus as a standalone name. I don't like Fergal either, so it's definitely the 'ferg' part!

I like Tate, although it's a little harsh. I like Barnaby/Barney. I think it's sweet.

Rudgie47 · 06/02/2018 21:58

Tate? what like the galleries?

londonloves · 06/02/2018 21:59

Barnaby is great! Also loooove Angus

Pompom42 · 06/02/2018 22:00

Never known a Fergus but I like it. Not keen on Barnaby at all. I like Tate I think it’s very modern. 2 Tate’s i know both very cute blonde blue eyed boys that could model.

I like Barnaby and Fergus but dislike Tate

Out of the 3, Fergus would me my preference

DramaAlpaca · 06/02/2018 22:05

Fergus is OK, but Magnus is better.

Barnaby is a bit wet (sorry) & Tate is just horrible (sorry again).

Nathaniel nn Nate instead maybe?

MissMouseMcPhee · 06/02/2018 22:08

I love Barnaby. It's adorable. I wanted it for one of mine but dh said no way. Not keen on Tate and Fergus is fine but sounds a bit middle aged.

hollyberrytree · 06/02/2018 22:27

I’m voting for Barnaby!

Where I live potatoes are known as Tates.

Bossbaby12 · 06/02/2018 22:29

I love Tate!

pipilangstrumpf · 07/02/2018 06:59

I love Barnaby. Fergus is quite nice too.

But Tate? It sounds strange as a name, not masculine at all, sorry.

pipilangstrumpf · 07/02/2018 07:00

I also like the suggestion of Magnus or how about Quentin or Tristan?

Love Fergus, very cool !

17caterpillars1mouse · 09/02/2018 11:42

Barnaby - i really like nn Barney but DH won't go for it. I only know one Barnaby (12) and he uses Barnaby and very occassionally Barnes

Fergus - it's grown on me recently but i know id never get it passed DH

Tate - it's not my style but actually I really like it. It's got a cool vibe that I think could work on both a man whose into sport or a man who is artsy.
