Would this be ok as a middle name or is it crazy?

No its fine as a MN. What first name is it to go with.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 03/02/2018 18:31

If you love it then why not? It's quite pretty actually. I know of an Elodie Emerald.

Meemzinha · 03/02/2018 18:39

I think only 5% of people in my life know my middle name...

So go for it!

We aren’t set on first name yet but funnily enough we’re thinking Elodie! Haha!

Love it. I also like Topaz and Sapphire. I don’t really understand why Ruby and Pearl are acceptable but not other gemstone names. Even quite like Diamond.

Good choice OP Smile

One of my best friends has the middle name Amethyst. Her first name is a very popular common name. I’d say for a middle name.. go for it!!

LadyPug · 03/02/2018 19:15

Haha thank you GreatDuck

Totally fine as a middle name.
Elodie Emerald sounds a bit like a children's book character.

ChocolateCrunch · 03/02/2018 20:04

Love it

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/02/2018 20:40

DD2 is called Esmerelda which of course means Emerald and I adore it....

TheNavigator · 03/02/2018 21:43

Love it, but possibly wasted as a middle name? I don't know anyone's middle names (& no one knows mine, thank god)

MrsBungle · 03/02/2018 21:48

Lovely as a middle name

Sophronia · 04/02/2018 12:19

I know someone with Emerald as a first name. I think it’s fine as a mn!

FizzyGreenWater · 04/02/2018 13:32

Don't like it, sorry - if you look at it as a word and sound instead of the gemstone association, it's not very attractive. Think it's the 'Emer' bit - reminds me of Emerson, Emeritus. It's a very staid, stern kind of sound.

Really like Amethyst though!

thestickereconomy · 04/02/2018 13:32

I like it

Threeandabit · 04/02/2018 21:36

It's lovely Smile
