Rapid risers.... what do you think?

I know we can’t predict the future, but we can have a bloody good go...

Names like Poppy, Sienna, Isla came from nowhere and now everywhere.
They’re lovely but they’ll probably be the next Claire, Nicola, Laura of the 70s/80s or the Debbie, Julie, Sharon of the 50s/60s...

Any guesses as to what will be the next set....

Girls - Ava, Ivy and Isla

Boys - Teddy, Stanley, Leo are everywhere!

I've met a few Ezras and Edens recently. Not sure they'll ever be really popular though.

I think baby names are very localised

I have seen 3 Finley’s in one class, lots and lots of Oliver’s ( a name I thought had passed its peak a few years back) and Poppy being v popular

But I do think it depends on your own circle and school as some of the most popular names may not be as popular depending on where you are

Lymmmummy · 02/02/2018 16:30

Also loads of Ted and Teddy all of a sudden nice name but one of those where people probably think they are being quite original only to find there are loads of them

Girls - Rose, Ava, Eva

Boys - Arlo, Archie and Roman

I’ve met 2 baby boys called Robin recently, is that on the rise?

holidayqueriwifi · 02/02/2018 18:04

Any variant of Isabel/la has been done to a death but it continues to rise (as it is very pretty).
Ava, Ivy, Sophie, Poppy, Isla...

Finley, Oliver, Theo, Otis and Ted all very popular here in SE.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 02/02/2018 18:11

Oscar, Harry and Imogens as far as the eye can see around here.

badg3r · 02/02/2018 19:29

Finley, Harry, Rory
Ava, Florence, "old lady" names in general!

thamesk8 · 02/02/2018 22:22

I agree. Jemima is on our list for number 3.
There are about 4 in my town and everyone seems to know one. However still very far down the popularity charts....

I’m torn!!!
