Not pregnant btw, just having a think about names! Grin

I like the name Reese for a boy and prefer this spelling to Rhys. However, I read on another online forum that people would use that spelling for a girl or assume it was for a girl rather than a boy. Could this spelling of Reese be used for a boy? What do you think?

I like this name because my mother's name was Teresa, so I just thought it was a nice nod to her with the "reese" sound from the middle of her name.

When I saw the title of the thread I did assume it was for a girl. I really love it for a girl personally- possibly more so than for a boy. I'd definitely go with Rhys for a boy. Really nice solid name though think its underrated!

Peanut butter chocolate!

I think it can be male or female, ..another name (that you may not have thought of) that might honour your mum's name is TerrySmile

I would spell it Reece if you don’t like Rhys!

I think people might assume a girl because of Reese (with an s) Witherspoon, but there are a couple of British male actors Reece Shearsmith and Reece Dinsdale, so I'd say it can be either.

When I saw Reece I thought of a boy- I knew one at school with this name

HappyLollipop · 02/02/2018 12:14

I think it's lovely although I prefer it spelt Reece.

Rhys or Reece for a boy.
Reese is recognised as a girls name, this spelling.

Pompom42 · 02/02/2018 14:21

This spelling is more Girl I’d say. I’d consider Reece for a boy. I think Rhys is the Welsh way?

Malcolm in the Middle

Rhys is far nicer. Reese/Reece just reminds me of the peanut butter pieces. Reese does seem female to me, too.

It's fascinating how much difference spelling makes. I love Rhys. Reece and Rees nope. And Reese has always been a girl in my experience.
