Love the name Adriana pronounced both Aid-ree-ah-na & Ad-ree-ah-na, but was wondering if there is a correct or more common pronunciation?

How would you pronounce Adriana? Smile

For me, it's a Spanish name and I'd say Ad-ree-ah-na

SleepFreeZone · 01/02/2018 11:40

I would pronounce it A-dree-ar-nah

Thiswayorthatway · 01/02/2018 11:41

Ad-reeh-anna

OakIsBetterTho · 01/02/2018 11:42

Personally I say it Aid-ree-aah-na, with the ana on the end sounding like Ana of Frozen fame, iyswim?
The adriana I knew never said I was saying it wrong anyway 😂

Winifredgoose10 · 01/02/2018 11:43

I knew one who was aid at beginning. She in her 60s now.

AnnieOH1 · 01/02/2018 11:44

I had always pronounced it Aid-re-arr-na until I met a good friend who is Romanian who pronounces it Add-ri-ar-na. To my ear I prefer the second one, I don't know if it's because the first way I find too much like Adrian or what but...?! =)

estebanjul · 01/02/2018 11:46

I like the Ana from frozen pronunciation too Grin Just unsure about whether it should be Aid or Add at the beginning

I think it should be Aid at the start not Add. Like the male name Adrian. You say Aid-ree-un not Add-ree-un.

greendale17 · 01/02/2018 11:57

I would pronounce it A-dree-ar-nah

^This

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/02/2018 12:05

I'd personally say Ai-dree-ana.

alpineibex · 01/02/2018 12:06

Ay-dree-arh-na

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/02/2018 12:22

Ai-dree-ar-nah

Thistlebelle · 01/02/2018 12:24

Add-ri-anna

Eolian · 01/02/2018 12:27

If I knew that the person was of English-speaking descent, I'd probably pronounce it 'aid ree ahna'. Otherwise 'add ree ahna'.

MollyHuaCha · 01/02/2018 13:34

Ad-ree-AH-na

MikeUniformMike · 01/02/2018 13:44

I'd say Ad-ree-AH-na but it's a name that will get misspelt and mispronounced.
I'd steer clear.

kaytee87 · 01/02/2018 18:45

Ad-ree-ana. Nice name actually, not one I've thought of before.

Where are people getting the R in the middle from?
