DH and I are set on the name Cody for our new arrival (boy or girl)
Not sure on how to spell it though,
Cody
Kody
Kodie
Codie
Codi
Kodi

Would you spell it differently fir a boy than a girl?

Cody looks best to me for boy or girl.

lovelyjubilly · 30/01/2018 05:15

Cody

Isn't 'Kodi' the name of the movie streaming box? I wouldn't use that.

Mugshotzforlunch · 30/01/2018 05:53

Cody is the most neutral spelling. I know a boy and a girl with this spelling

neighbourhoodwitch · 30/01/2018 05:57

Cody

I would say Cody is neutral. Codie is a girl. Codi is more likely to be a boy but could be either. I am not sure why ie makes it a girl because there are boys names with ie - Jamie, but I think ie is more widely used in girls names.

SuperBeagle · 30/01/2018 06:27

Cody for both.

ChocolateCrunch · 30/01/2018 06:56

Cody

FissionChips · 30/01/2018 06:58

Cody.

falang · 30/01/2018 07:04

I thought Cody was a boys name. However you want to spell it. Spell it any of the other ways and your child will be spelling it out every time they have to give their name.

Joeybee · 30/01/2018 07:43

Cody for either.

GlorianaBanana · 30/01/2018 08:22

Kohdeeeeeeeee

I prefer Cody

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/01/2018 08:55

Cody for a boy
Kodie for a girl

k2p2k2tog · 30/01/2018 08:58

Cody.

But it's not a girl's name.

lizzlebizzle33 · 30/01/2018 09:16

Thank you, I prefer Cody for either too but OH thinks maybe with a K for a girl.
It may be traditionally a boys name but I love it for a girl. I'm sure a long time ago a girl on neighbours was called Cody 😂

From your own post, you know you are condemning this child to a lifetime of having their name spelled wrong, right?

lizzlebizzle33 · 30/01/2018 09:37

Well he's already going to have to spell his last name (dads family are polish) so what the hell 😂

I like your style OP!

RavenWings · 30/01/2018 21:40

Cody for sure.

I think you just answered your own question.

SingaSong12 · 30/01/2018 21:47

If your child already has a name that is unusual (for the place he currently lives) please give him/her a name that will generally be easy to recognise. If you have just spent ages getting someone to record one different name do you really want to do it all again when they ask for your first name? (I have to do it all the time and it's a pain.)

TenThousandSpoons · 30/01/2018 22:03

Cody.
Defo not Kodi as that is what I watch tv on. Would be like calling your child Netflix.

SwinginFromTheChandelier · 30/01/2018 22:05

Cody but it's definitely more a boys name.

pipilangstrumpf · 30/01/2018 23:09

Cody! I know a girl called Cody. It works well for either gender

cushioncovers · 30/01/2018 23:21

Cody
