What are your thoughts on Olena?
I would pronounce it Oh-len-ah.

I currently really like it, and love Ollie as a nn.

I believe it is Ukrainian, we have no Ukrainian heritage but likewise DD1 has a Scandinavian name and we arent Scandinavian either...

I like it!

TimesNewRoman · 28/01/2018 21:22

I like it. I nearly called my DD Alena.

JeansAndANiceTop · 28/01/2018 21:22

I would pronounce it O-lee-na. Which is how my Russian neighbour says it, it’s her name.

DramaAlpaca · 28/01/2018 21:22

I quite like it actually.

I'd consider spelling it Olenna to be sure of getting the pronunciation you want. I'd be inclined to pronounce Olena as oh-leen-a.

Olenna Tyrell springs to mind. She was a badass, but I don't especially like the name. It's alright.

DisabledUserName · 28/01/2018 21:23

I quite like it.
However just to note, with our northern accent it sounds a bit like 'hole in her'

Myddognearlyatethedeliveryman · 28/01/2018 21:23

We had Athena on our short list. Had a ds though!

BakedBeans47 · 28/01/2018 21:56

It’s ok

HappyLollipop · 28/01/2018 21:59

I like it reminds me of the sharped tongued lady Olenna from GOT so it's a thumbs up from me!

greathat · 28/01/2018 22:11

Pretty!

SuperBeagle · 29/01/2018 00:22

It's pronounced Oh-LEE-nah when spelt like that.

I would spell it Olenna if you're after that pronunciation.

I'm not a big fan either way.

MikeUniformMike · 29/01/2018 10:42

I would have said Oleena. I don't like it.
Elenna looks much nicer.
