Big sister Eva Alexandra. Middle name either Matthew or Howard (or both).

I prefer Jude to Jake. Jake sounds like a naughty dog to me. Jacob is nice though. I love both of your middle names and given the same shortlist would use Matthew Jacob or Matthew Howard.

Smarshian · 28/01/2018 15:05

Thanks for your reply. Dad is Matthew Howard so don't want a Matthew junior, hence use for middle name.

I like Jacob Matthew (Jake).
I like Jack Howard, I realise you didn't ask that though.😄

Jude

Jude. I love Jacob, but don’t like Jake.

RapunzelLetDownYourHair7 · 28/01/2018 15:57

Jude

MammieBear · 28/01/2018 16:01

Jude by miles and miles unless you like Jacob then that gives you Jake. Jude is just a little more different, he's the patron Saint of lost causes if that is of any interest to you.

whitecremeegg · 28/01/2018 16:11

baby name choices should take into consideration where you live. Are you living somewhere where your choice of name will be laughed at behind your back or lead to your child being bullied?

Where I stay, Jude, Howard or Eva would be considered far too posh. Jake or Matthew would be borderline acceptable/posh

Not meaning to be nasty when I say this, I'm just being honest. I'm in a working class area where there are a lot of celebrity / reality star names as well as double barrelled names. In a more affluent area, these would be mocked.

Fortunately, as I'm in Scotland, we can use Scottish place names and Gaelic names as alternatives so DD has a Gaelic name. However there are a lot of kids at her school with ridiculous names.

Someone called Elizabeth for example would be terribly bullied sadly.

Jude. Jake/Jacob is very common

TallulahBetty · 28/01/2018 16:12

Common as in lots of them

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/01/2018 16:12

LilacBearberry · 28/01/2018 16:21

Jude Matthew

dementedma · 28/01/2018 16:26

Jude. Definitely

jaynelovesagathachristie · 28/01/2018 16:32

Out of those 2 Jude

RavenWings · 28/01/2018 17:36

Jude is a horrible name. Awful harsh, ugly sound.

I'm not thrilled by Jake but it's a zillion times better than Jude. I prefer Matthew to Howard in general (Howard is very wet), but I like Howard as a middle name.

MikeUniformMike · 28/01/2018 17:38

Jude is horrible. Jake and Jacob are nice.
Jake will get lengthened to Jakey, which is a lot better than a boy nn'ed Judey.

ChocolateCrunch · 28/01/2018 19:31

Jude

pilates · 28/01/2018 19:38

Jake but prefer Jacob

Chocolateyescakeyes · 28/01/2018 19:41

Jude! Not keen on Jake and I'm definitely not a fan of Jacob.

Yorkshireswithallroasts · 28/01/2018 19:55

Jude by a country mile. It's a gorgeous name.

mum2be2boys · 28/01/2018 21:32

I love Jude :-) I'd go for Jude Matthew, I think it's a great name!

DramaAlpaca · 28/01/2018 21:34

I'd go for Jake Matthew.
