Short boys names

DS1 has a one syllable first name that's pretty unusual in England. We like short names as these work best with our surname. We are really struggling to find a short name for DS2 who is due shortly.

Our list is:
Finn (too popular)
Max (seems quite mainstream compared to unusual DS1)
Fox (too out there for first name?)
Keir (too similar to other name in family)
Ace (is it too out there?!)
Jude (there's a few near us)

We don't like royal names, anything top 20 but equally don't want to lumber the child with anything outrageous

What do you think of the above and any more suggestions for short, "cool", boys' names?

Jem (might be a bit girly, don't know your taste there? 9 boys given it in 2016)
Rudy (two syllables, I know, but short and seems to fit with what you like)
Kai

Leo, or Tom?

Love the name Rudy. I considered it if my baby turns out to be a boy.

Please not Ace. It immediately makes me think of Red Dwarf. Smoke me a kipper. I'll be back for breakfastGrin

Kit, Jett, Kai, Cole, Jay, Brice, Kurt, Zane

I love Fox and kinda like Ace (makes me think of the pet detective but that’s not necessarily a bad thing really)

Some great suggestions

Seth - love this but awful with our surname
Kit - really like
Quinn - like this too
Rex - this too although a friend has one
Tate - along the right lines
Ned - I'm surprised how much I like this

Joe, Ben, Sam and Tom just all a bit safe for us

I still think Ace (definitely not short for Jason) is a contender. I'm just a little young for peak Red Dwarf - my older sister a fan and I don't think it'll mean anything to kids born now!
