Name ideas to go with the last name Evans? We dont know the gender and i dont want anything toooo popular or 'out there' as my OH is a farmer and pretty traditional, welsh names are a plus to him but im not fussed on that.
So far these names have been mentioned:

Ellen Grace
Maggie ?
Annie ?

Owen Thomas
Arthur Thomas

I love grace as a middle name and Oliver for a boy but they are so common now a days that it puts me off slightly.
Any help appreciated, Thank you :)

Oh wow thank you for all of those ideas! Harry is out as that is my DSs name, i should have said! Haha and i would only like Thomas as a middle name as its the OHs name and his head would be massive if we named a child completely after him 😂

If you like Annie, you might like Anwen, which has the welsh connection.

dementedpixie · 25/01/2018 14:55

I know a Mia and a Brooke with that surname. Their mum and dad are Alan and Pamela

I would use Elen (pron. EL-enn) or Elin not Ellen.
Maggie and Annie are probably very common old women names where you live and your dd will get no end of My gran was Maggie/Annie Evans.

Owen or Arthur would work. Oliver Evans doesn't sound quite right to me.
Arthur is pronounced differently by welsh speakers - the Welsh way is nice though.

I'd pick names that are easy to pronounce and spell.

I'm middle aged and names that end in -wyn (boys) and -wen (girls) generally sound very dated. Morven in a welsh community will get called Morwen.
