Love Josephine/Josie.

AmberTopaz · 24/01/2018 15:03

Sophia is my favourite

Ponshuspirate · 24/01/2018 15:06

Not keen on any. I prefer Georgia, I also like Alexandra.

BabloHoney · 24/01/2018 15:06

Sophia is lovely.

Lots of people seem to be mentioning Georgina as a possible girls name at the moment so wonder if it is due a comeback! I do like it, though personally prefer Georgia.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/01/2018 15:11

Love Josephine/Josie.

Smoliver · 24/01/2018 15:12

I like Josephine and Sophia

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/01/2018 15:12

Sorry OP, for the double post, I lost the Internet connection.

ChocolateCrunch · 24/01/2018 15:17

Prefer Georgia and Sophie

SnowGoArea · 24/01/2018 15:26

Georgina or Georgiana are really lovely.

I quite like Victoria, but like none of the shortenings that will inevitably happen.

Josephine I'm just not mad about, although for no real reason. It's a perfectly good name though and Josie is quite nice as a short form.

Sophia I like a lot but the popularity would put me off.

NotAgainYoda · 24/01/2018 15:54

Josephine/Josie is lovely

Meemzinha · 24/01/2018 16:49

Georgiana is so beautiful and unique!!! Definitely that one ;-)

Lavenderdays · 24/01/2018 17:43

Thanks for your feedback everyone - it's tricky there are so many lovely names out there x

All good, classic names.

I really like Josephine, that's my favourite from the list.

Sophia is quite popular, I slightly prefer Sophie.

Georgina is better than Georgiana, both are preferable to Georgia.

Victoria is OK, I like it shortened to Vika as in some parts of eastern Europe.

mondler · 24/01/2018 20:55

My fav would be Josephine. I know someone in their 30s with this name and it really suits her. I've never met another and she goes by Josie.

Sophia is very pretty but also quite popular (which may or may not bother you)

I knew lots of Victoria's growing up in the 80s but I don't know if its dated or not? Most went by Vicky/Vikki.

Georgina/Georgiana are both pretty but I think if you went for Georgiana she'll probably have to correct people a lot. I knew a Georgia who constantly got called Georgina and it really really annoyed her!

Leeds2 · 24/01/2018 20:58

From your list, Georgina. But I prefer Georgia.

Theclockstruck2 · 24/01/2018 20:59

Love Josephine and Georgina!

SuperBeagle · 24/01/2018 21:00

Josephine is my favourite. I've always loved Josie.

Not a fan of the rest. Vastly prefer Georgia to Georgina/Georgiana. Sophia is absurdly popular the moment (I think it's one of the most popular names in the world, and has been for the better part of a decade). Victoria will always remind me of the Queen, and I don't like Vicky/Tori.

Theclockstruck2 · 24/01/2018 21:00

Also Georgina is much better than Georgia! Can’t believe people are saying otherwise!! Smile

Lavenderdays · 24/01/2018 22:11

Josephine and Georgina/Georgiana seem to be the favourites and I think if I had to make a decision tomorrow...it would be whittled down to these two. Josephine is more straight forward in terms of choice whereas with Georgina/Georgiana it seems more tricky to choose (don't like Georgia so it would be a dilemma between Georgina and Georgiana)
Sophia is very popular, thinking about it...I already know a few and I'm not sure I like the shortened Vicki from Victoria
Think I am going to go round in circles for a while on this one!
Thanks for all the opinions so far.

I don't like Georgina. I do really like Georgiana but it's a lot of name iyswim. Josephine doesn't really do it for me at all.

I agree that if you don't like Vicky you really can't do Victoria, and Sophia is extremely popular.

CuppaTeaTime2 · 24/01/2018 23:13

Victoria is my favourite.

Josephine is very dowdy and old-fasioned.
Georgina/Georgiana- okay but boring.
Sophia- boring and oh so popular.

CuppaTeaTime2 · 24/01/2018 23:13

Josie is quite nice but Josephine is awful.

Beeziekn33ze · 25/01/2018 00:11

I thought a friend's DD, Josie, was Josephine but she was actuall Josianne which I much prefer.

Lavenderdays · 25/01/2018 14:16

Cuppa...would be interested to hear your opinion on non-boring classical names? It is difficult finding a name which is lovely but not too outlandish. I agree that Sophia is probably too popular...any other suggestions? I thought that Georgiana, was not boring - quite a mouthful and therefore a little bit daring!?!

daisypond · 25/01/2018 15:44

I like Josephine - I don't see it as old-fashioned or boring at all. I also like Georgina/Georgiana. Both are miles better than the slightly downmarket Georgia (to me). Sophia is nice, but it's pretty common these days. I'm not wild about Victoria but it's OK.
