Er, we still use ours.

DC1 requests that we not use his in public, but answers to it and calls himself by it at home.

Meanwhile DC3 is actually known by his at preschool (generally the children call him by his nickname and the adults use his real name - perhaps surprisingly there is no confusion).

Mine still answer to theirs in the house anyway, Bean, Mummyboy, Lou and Pearl even though they are aged teen to late twenties.
