Baby due to arrive by ELCS on Monday.

Current favourites

Girl- Florence or Alice

Boy- Finbar or Edward (Eddie).

I'm drawn to older style or Irish/celtic names but open to others!

Second name has a long ee sound and a y ending so I don't like anything that rhymes with that or has a y end? E.g Evie, Penny etc.

Am I missing any fabulous names??

Beatrice for a girl. Or Iris.
Cormac for a boy.
Congratulations!

sureitsgrand · 20/01/2018 12:13

I love Iris! We have a Cormac in the family already but I love that too.

Ühy do you need help. You're doün to 2 names for each. It's not like you've got a snaking long list.

Alice or Finbar.
Congratulations.

I know of too many little boys called Fin(n) to like Finbar

TheVanguardSix · 20/01/2018 13:52

Florence and Edward would be my choice.

Other Gaelic/Irish boys' names are: Lorcan, Jarlath, Conan

I really like Beatrice or Veronica as well for a girl. But Florence is so lovely.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/01/2018 16:21

Alice or Finbar.
How about Lois or Conrad.

mondler · 20/01/2018 18:54

How exciting, good luck for Monday OP! I love the name Florence and Edward is cute.

Also there's Verity, Grace, Willow, Fern for girls.
FWIW for boys I prefer Finley to Finbar. There's Edmond, Nathaniel, Jonah, Marcus.

pilates · 20/01/2018 19:19

Alice and Edward are my favourites

Pearl and Jacob

Good luck 💐

NotAgainYoda · 20/01/2018 21:56

Evan
Patrick
Michael

Are you at all concerned about many kids having the same name? Because in a very small group of mums. I know four Florences! It seems to be very popular right now!

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 20/01/2018 22:00

They're all fine names (and I love Iris too), though I'm not keen on Eddie.

Michael's great, not many little Michaels around.

SuperBeagle · 20/01/2018 22:02

I love Florence and Alice, but I think Alice is more timeless than Florence. Florence seems to be having a resurgence in popularity at the moment, but Alice is a steadfastly classic name.

And I love Edward.

sureitsgrand · 20/01/2018 23:40

I'm in Ireland, Florence is not as popular here at all as it seems to be in the UK, so I don't mind.

Michael is to be used as middle name if it's a boy.

Finbar I really love but it seems to be a very marmite name for most people.

Finbar and Florence are actually really excellent boy/girl twin names :)

sureitsgrand · 21/01/2018 21:50
