The name Thea

What do you think of the name Thea Millie? Both names to dedicate mine and Dh grandmothers. Our surname is a nice sounding simple name (my maiden name was bad so appreciate my married name)

Also for a boy we have decided on Isaiah David (definitely not everyone taste)

Love it. I’m a mum of a Thea 😀

LyraPotter · 14/01/2018 23:06

Really pretty! And I like your boy's name too

Thank you for the positive feedback! Really appreciate it!

Don't like it. Makes me think of thawed out food.

Chimchar · 14/01/2018 23:40

Love it. Sounds classic but not boring or old. Classy.
Love your boys name too. Smile

DramaAlpaca · 14/01/2018 23:43

I'm not keen either. I find it lispy & insubstantial. Sorry. We just have different taste in names I guess.

I do love that the names honour both your grandmothers though, that's really sweet.

OvO · 14/01/2018 23:43

Love it!

BackforGood · 15/01/2018 00:03

I like it too.
Fairly unusual. Easy to pronounce if you see it written, and easy to spell if you hear it said. All good criteria for a name in my book. Smile

eastlondoner · 15/01/2018 00:04

I initially thought I really like it. Then as I started writing this I realised that in the wrong hands it just sounds like Fear, which isn't great.

Marv1nGay3 · 15/01/2018 00:10

I love it!

Alwaysaspiring · 15/01/2018 00:18

I liked it until I heard someone say it as "fiiiurrr'

DontMakeMeShushYou · 15/01/2018 00:20

I like it. I disagree with those who say it is easy to pronounce though. There are different pronunciations. I know two and they are both pronounced differently - Thee-uh (Greek) and Tay-Uh (French). How were you thinking you would pronounce it, OP?

georgiaokeeffe · 15/01/2018 00:23

Love it!

SuperBeagle · 15/01/2018 00:31

I like it, but I'd be cautious over Thea, simply because I think in many places (particularly in the UK), it will be pronounced "Fea".

Like Isaiah David too, although I prefer David Isaiah.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 15/01/2018 09:25

I love Thea. I am not sure about Millie though. Is Millicent an option? I think Thea Millicent flows better personally.

Buck3t · 15/01/2018 09:30

You've asked for opinions (you crazy lady!)

Love Thea. Millie sounds like an old lady's name but she will be one day.

Isaiah David is perfect. love it

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 15/01/2018 09:33

You've asked for opinions (you crazy lady!)
I'm confused by that comment..

dontquotemeondailymail · 15/01/2018 09:55

Love it! We've got a Thea in our family, pronounced Tay-uh

whyIsARavenLikeAWritingDesk · 15/01/2018 09:57

I love Thea, it was on our list but unfortunately our DD just didn't suit it

DullAndOld · 15/01/2018 09:59

but would it be thee-a or taya?

I know a Taya that started off as a Thea but her mother got annoyed with everyone saying 'thee-a' so changed the spelling.

C4Envelope · 15/01/2018 10:03

I’m a mum of a Thea, pronounced the Greek way. I still love it and Thea likes to say it. Where we are we have had a few people say Feeya which is annoying, but water under the bridge really.

BackforGood · 15/01/2018 10:51

Oh. I withdraw my earlier comment about pronounciation then!
I've only ever heard it pronounced Theee - a. Hadn't occurred to me there could be any other way.

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/01/2018 12:31

I love Thea and Millie is nice too

I also really like Isaiah David

Mrsknackered · 15/01/2018 13:09

Love it. I like Isaiah too but never sure about pronunciation. I know one who is an I-zay-uh and an I-sy-uh.

mondler · 15/01/2018 19:37

I think its very nice. I've only heard it Theee-a. I like Thea Millie but LOVE the Thea Milicent if it's an option.

I like your boy's name too.
