Olivia. It's beautiful. I absolutely love Liv Thanks

HuskyMcClusky · 14/01/2018 03:19

Isabel.

Olivia so so so overused. Isabella a bit frilly.

shsh3r · 14/01/2018 06:38

I know they're overused but so are a lot of names such as Sophie, Sophia, Mia, Emily etc etc etc
I don't like the made up sounding names or quirky names just to be different...

People are saying "is a bel" necessary on a bike - never heard this joke before but don't want her getting irritated by it forever!

Other option may be "Livia"

I've got a 10 week old Isobel - Izzy for short

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 14/01/2018 08:08

Oh ffs @ the people saying “is a bell”. Is this someone irl? Ridiculous.

I actually prefer the Isobel spelling anyway, so maybe that’s less “is a bell” ish?

Livia is nice too, but if you like Olivia best, then it’s a lovely name. Popular for a reason! Go for what you love and what suits dd.

Don’t let people being negative irl put you off Isabel though. I can’t believe how rude people can be about baby names when you’ve just given birth! We had it too, with our dd’s name and, three years later, I still think the person who did it is a giant dick for doing so. The only people whose opinions matter are you and your dp.

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 14/01/2018 08:20

Is a bell? Is this something people say IRL? And even if they did, it’s one of the more benign name ‘taunts’ imo.

Isabel is lovely. :)

shsh3r · 14/01/2018 08:57

Thanks for that! Makes me feel a bit better :-)

What does IRL mean? Sorry... haven't seen this before

IRL = in real life (not online)

AliasGrape · 14/01/2018 09:09

Congratulations. They are all lovely names. I know Olivia is meant to be super popular but in over 12 years of teaching young children I’ve only taught 4, never more than 1 in a class. I had 4 Isabella’s in the class last year (though it was nursery with 2 cohorts so class was actually 52 Children). My niece is an Isabella though and she’s absolutely awesome so I’m still very partial to the name. Isabel is lovely too, though I like the Isobel spelling better.

Take your time, enjoy your beautiful new baby!

XxMagpiexX · 14/01/2018 11:55

Ohh do we have a name for the little angel yet? Isabel seems like the front runner x

CauliflowerBalti · 14/01/2018 12:06

I really like Olivia. It gives her options - she can be a Liv, Livvy, Livia, Olive... If you’re not bothered about popularity - and why should you be? Not everyone is - I vote Olivia.

MsJolly · 14/01/2018 12:10

Isabel is beautiful (I have one!) and she is Belle for short.

ladystarkers · 14/01/2018 12:12

Is’o’’bel

mum2be2boys · 14/01/2018 13:23

All 3 names are beautiful, I can see why you are having trouble deciding.

I think I'd go with Isabel :-)

dementedma · 14/01/2018 13:29

Ishbel, to give it a Scottish twist.
I'm just staggered that you gave birth today and are online. i was barely conscious for the first few weeks!!!

XxMagpiexX · 14/01/2018 13:40

Oh I take back Isabel I agree with
@demtentedma on the Ishbell it's beautiful and not popular at all 😍😍

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 14/01/2018 13:42

Ishbel is lovely. Especially if you have a connection to Scotland / are in Scotland.

FundayMorning · 14/01/2018 14:51

There are plenty of normal names that aren't Sophia, Ella, Emily, Isabella and Olivia. Literally hundreds of names that aren't quirky or way-out but that aren't in the top 10 baby names. Have a look OP!

kittymason · 14/01/2018 17:01

Love Isabella, although very popular! At the moment I know four Isabelle/Isabellas and also three Olivias. Alternatives like Livia, Livvy, Belle, Isa, Bella might be more unique sounding?

But out of the three Isabella is my fave! x

mondler · 14/01/2018 19:23

Congratulations! Take the others advice and don't rush yourself into a big decision whilst you must be knackered. Take a deep breath, let both yourself and your partner try out all the names over the next day or so and see if one just seems 'right'. All three are beautiful names Flowers

meanapparently · 14/01/2018 19:27

My stepdaughter is called Isabelle so I'm biased 😁 congratulations

ladystarkers · 14/01/2018 22:29

Freddie Ishbel is gorg❤️

Notso · 15/01/2018 13:41

Olivia. The youngest one I know is 10 and Liv is a great nick name. There's three variations of Isabel/la in DC3's class, two in DC4's and DC1 has two friends called Izzy.

MrsTiggyWinkle3 · 15/01/2018 13:46

Congratulations!

Out of the three, I would go with Olivia. It just seems more timeless and a stronger name than the others.

Rachie1973 · 15/01/2018 13:46

Isabel!! I love it, I wanted it. Crappy ExH wasn't having it though lol.

I liked Isobel though xx
