Oliver - is it just toooooo popular?

My baby boy is a week old and we haven't got a short list.
Ideally I wanted a name not in the top 50 - however the more I look at him the more he looks like an Oliver 🙈 I do really love the name but the popularity is bothering me.
I have 2 under 6s and haven't actually come across any - all the boys here are Jacobs / Jakes and Harry's.

Should I let its popularity put me off? Does it matter?

My dd has a bunch of friends called ‘the Ollie gang’, so that’s an indication! She could have been a member if she was a boy as that was going to be her name!

Zach
Max
Theo

It is very popular which is one of the reasons we didn't go with it, however we have only met one ds's age since (he is 4) so if you really love it I would use it.
Fwiw other names on the list were Alexander, Benjamin, Joshua, William. I also like Adam, Jack, Miles, Sebastian, Seth.

50 babies born in the last 3 weeks on the Jan mums Facebook group (mumsnet spinoff). I think there's 3 Olivers and 3 Freddie's so far. Both names were on my shortlist too.

Yes, yes and yes. It's so boring (sorry).

There are so many other traditional but underused names out there.

Loads of them here, three babies called Oliver in one group I went to.

That said, my name was the most common girl’s name in the year I was born, and I’m not scarred by it.
