Aurelia or Claudia ?

We made a name list and these are the front runners. Which one do you like best?

Aurelia, as not keen on Claudia, sorry

Aurelia, I'm not keen on Claudia either.

My daughter is called Aurelia! Be prepared for lots of mispronouncing!

Claudia - I know a lovely little girl with this name

Claudia is a beautiful name. It’s a family name here. It also shortened nicely for a family pet name and makes a very useful initial. It’s also unlikely you will see many. And is not too posh or anything. Crosses quite a lot of lines well. The other one just makes me think of Love Actually isn’t that the name of one of the characters? Or the fence film?

You can think about how a name plays as u grow and a C initial can create quite a cool vibe. Think CJ Craig off West Wing.

Both are nice. I prefer Claudine to Claudia, though. What would you shorten Aurelia to?

Claudia is lovely.

I find Aurelia a bit flouncy... It can also end up being pronounced a lot like Amelia, which I’m not keen on either.

Friends baby is called Aurelia, it is Avery pretty name, butI have to keep stopping myself from calling her Areola.

These were both on my list. We went with Claudia. Gets loads of compliments. Haven’t met another yet (there’s an Aurelia at her nursery).

Aurelia x 100. Much nicer. Call your child 'golden' not 'crippled'.

Claudia. It's more classic. Aurelia is pretty but it's having a moment now and it'll date.

Claudia. Aurelia....just don't like the sound of it. Also people would say/spell it wrong all the time. Also it's a bit close to areola. Claudia is a nice, traditional and classic. You couldn't really judge a kid called Claudia as it is not overly girly or trendy or cutesy or frumpy.
