Mumsnetters please help - our baby is due is just a few weeks and me and my partner can't agree on a boys name!

We are looking for a traditional but unusual boys name - I loved theodore, jasper and Ezra, he loves Freddie which I'm.just not keen on.

I'd like a something that can be shortned to a nice nickname. Any ideas??

Don't like any of your choices.
I'd go for something a bit more traditional like Oliver, Edward, Matthew, James, Peter etc.

Following just to find out which bit of the name fox is.

Max Fox

Can be Maxwell or Maxamilian.

Freddie Fox's dad sells everything in packs of five! Or ten... Or something!
I love Jasper.

Sorry fox is the surname! I love some of the names suggested thank you - we also stumbled upon Harrison Fox, which could be shortened to Harry. Is that too similar to Harrison Ford though? Obviously a very different generation but I wouldn't want him to be bombarded with comparisons growing up...

I love Harrison Fox!! (I may be slightly biased with the name Harrison!!) it goes way better with your surname than mine and I’m slightly jealous!

Dixiestampsagain · 12/01/2018 00:48

Mine is shortened but spells it Harri.

Harry Fox is superb! Harrison Fox too.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 12/01/2018 02:02

If you think Harrison fox is to near Harrison Ford because you don't want him bombarded with the oh like .... are you named after .... you might want to avoid these names to

James Fox (known for thoroughly modern Millie, remains of the day, Charlie and the chocolate factory, Lewis, New tricks, death in paradise)

Laurence Fox (James' son and Hathaway in Lewis)

Edward fox (James' brother, the jackal in day of the jackal amongst others)

Freddie fox (Edwards son and in three musketteers)

These however seem to be the sort of traditional strong names you want.

Compared to them I don't think Harrison fox would get oh like the actor at all.

River
Wilfred (gives best of both worlds nn wise)
Archer

I think any of the above would work well with Fox I was tempted to put Wolf Wink
