Rosalind, Megan or May?

blinkineckmum · 10/01/2018 20:24

Which is best?
Rosalind can be Ros or Rose but not Rosie.
Megan can be Meg.
May.
Middle name will probably be Kathryn.
Surname is 3 syllables.

May, will be uncommon as a first name as its a common middle name at present.
I like Rosalind and it has a few nn.

RavenLG · 10/01/2018 20:29

I know two Rosalind's (adults) and both are referred to as Ros (didn’t even consider Rosie to be a shortened form).
I like Megan but hate Meg.
May is a bit meh imo

AnyaMoondial · 10/01/2018 20:29

I like them all. Meg is fab.

ChocolateCrunch · 10/01/2018 20:32

Megan. Also quite like May, but not Rosalind, sorry.

AdaColeman · 10/01/2018 20:34

Rosalind.

Megan will always now be spelt Meghan! Also not keen on the Royal connection. May is a bit plain and ordinary.

DramaAlpaca · 10/01/2018 20:34

Rosalind for me.

formerbabe · 10/01/2018 20:35

Rosalind is frumpy imo.

May is not my cup of tea, it doesn't roll off the tongue...it's too short.

I like Megan, but I think it's set to become extremely popular Wink

HolyShet · 10/01/2018 20:35

Rosalind

It has presence

May is a bit middle-namey June or April would be better

Megan is great but you have the Meghan Markle factor to consider

blinkineckmum · 10/01/2018 20:40

Thanks all. I hadn't even thought of Meghan Markle! Hmmm. Leaning towards May then. Or Maria, if it's not going to be considered very religious?

I like Rosalind but not how it sounds with the middle name.

I like both May and Megan... think May Kathryn --- will flow the best.

MikeUniformMike · 10/01/2018 21:22

Don't like May at all. Rosalind is beautiful and Ros is cool as a nn. Meg is lovely.

Mrsknackered · 10/01/2018 21:42

I absolutely love Meg. But I don't like Megan - I don't know why, and it annoys me as it rules out Meg for us!

Not a fan of Rosalind.

I like May, it's unusual as it's usually something-May/Mai/Mae, but I think it's so pretty and strong on its own.

PandaCat · 10/01/2018 22:13

Megan.

Not a fan of May or Rosalind, I prefer Rosalie.

Ohyesiam · 10/01/2018 22:16

Lots and lots of Megans and Mays (and Mais) around where I live.
Rosalind is really pretty.

Bananalanacake · 10/01/2018 22:23

That's my mum's name and also my late gran's name. She hated being named after the month she was born. Thought it was unimaginative.

blinkineckmum · 10/01/2018 22:32

Due in March!

TatianaLarina · 10/01/2018 22:43

Agree there will be a lot of Megans due to Meghan.

My aunt is called Rosalind so I can’t be objective about it.

Prefer Rosa or Rosalie.

I know quite a few Rosalinds actually - one is called Ros, one is called Rollie and another is called Bobby.

Xanadu44 · 10/01/2018 23:02

Not Rosalind. I was called this at birth (different spelling) and I HATE it. Go for May.

SuperBeagle · 11/01/2018 01:35

I love May.

May Kathryn.

I prefer Katherine or Catherine, but it's a lovely name regardless.

HuskyMcClusky · 11/01/2018 01:59

I love May as a first name.

Rosalind will get Ros, which is harsh and awful and frumpy.

Megan is meh, although I like Meg.

Onceuponatimethen · 11/01/2018 02:03

If may but born in March won’t she get bored of people saying - were you born in May?

That said I love the name May

Megan not so keen

Rosalind I love and like your mn with it but the Rosalinds I know both use their middle name or call themselves Rose. They aren’t keen on the full name

Onceuponatimethen · 11/01/2018 02:04

I also prefer the Catherine spelling

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 11/01/2018 03:57

Love Maria Kathryn, it's beautiful. I prefer this spelling.

waitingfortheendtocome · 11/01/2018 04:18

I know a Rosalind. Have only ever heard her being called Roz and Rozzie!

nooka · 11/01/2018 04:31

I think Kathryn works better with a longer first name, so not May. I prefer Rosalind to Megan and really like Maria.
