Sibling for Spencer...

Hi,

My first post on mumsnet, even though I use it to research most things motherhood related!

I am currently pregnant with baby number 2. I am hoping to have the resolve to keep the gender a surprise this time, so will be keeping two baby name shortlists! Very short lists at that, as we really struggled with names first time round, and this time I’ve made the classic mistake of looking too much & now nothing jumps out at me. I just wondered what the general opinion was of these names, and how they sit alongside Spencer...and any other suggestions a fresh pair of eyes may have!

I love Philippa, like Zara and think Lydia is ok.

I don’t like either of your boy names (sorry).

How about Xavier or Evander for a boy? Maybe Xanthe for a girl?

Really like Spencer and have it on my list for dc2, due very soon!

To be honest i dont think any of your girls names go with Spencer. Me personally i would keep up the surnamey name theme.

Although maybe in the “surname” name category, Spencer has a different feel to me...although that’s probably just me! I probably wouldn’t be too keen on another surname type name, although I like many of the suggestions. Girls names seem so much easier to me, boys names are impossible! Spencer was nameless for about 10 days! We have classic boys names in abundance here, and less classic but still popular names like Noah, Ethan, Lucas etc aren’t really for me.

I agree Xander probably doesn’t sit well with Spencer, my husband said the same...same syllables and same -er ending. Emerson is a wildcard really, I know one and have always liked the name but not 100% sure.

We have a foreign surname so that doesn’t help matters either 😂

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions, I’ve been feeling horrendous and sicky for 6 weeks so it’s nice to have a positive distraction!
