Can't agree on girl's name

DS2 due in 10 days.
For DS1 I chose the name. My partner agreed to it having rejected all my other suggestions and coming up with very few himself. He was lukewarm about it but likes it now. He agreed to it in a state of elation at baby's safe arrival.
This time I have one firm favourite which he doesn't want. He doesn't want any of my other suggestions. Again he has come up with next to nothing and what he has suggested are pretty awful in my opinion/ are words rather than names.
I can see our only compromise being something that neither of us really care for.
I suppose I'm not the boss of names and I guess it is his turn this time.... has anyone agreed to a name they aren't keen on and how did that work out?
I feel a bit depressed that he has rejected my name (top 100 in the UK so nothing outlandish). The name was helping me bond/ get excited.
His reason is that his family will laugh as it is originally a French name that is now considered old-fashioned/passé in France. We don't live in France and never even go there.
Anyone else at a total impasse?
Any advice?

Are you having a boy or a girl?

You've said girls name in the title but then referred to the baby as DS2 Confused

What names have you/he liked and disagreed on?

Sorry. Title should say boy's name.
(We can't exactly agree on a girl's name either as it happens but have 1 compromise left over from last time in case the sex isn't as expected)
